5. Setup

5.1 Power Source

The Legami calculator operates on a dual power system:

  • Solar Energy: The calculator can be powered by its built-in solar panel in sufficiently lit environments.
  • AAA Battery: For use in low-light conditions, one AAA battery (not included) is required.

5.2 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the calculator.
  2. Gently slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert one AAA battery, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals match the indicators inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover, ensuring it is securely closed.

The calculator should power on automatically or when a button is pressed.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Calculations

  1. Addition: Enter the first number, press +, enter the second number, press =.
  2. Subtraction: Enter the first number, press -, enter the second number, press =.
  3. Multiplication: Enter the first number, press ×, enter the second number, press =.
  4. Division: Enter the first number, press ÷, enter the second number, press =.

6.2 Percentage Calculations

To calculate a percentage of a number (e.g., 10% of 200):

  1. Enter the number: 200
  2. Press ×
  3. Enter the percentage value: 10
  4. Press % (The display will show 20, which is 10% of 200).

6.3 Memory Functions

  • M+: Adds the currently displayed number to the memory.
  • M-: Subtracts the currently displayed number from the memory.
  • MRC: Press once to recall the value stored in memory. Press twice to clear the memory.

6.4 Clearing Entries

  • CE: Clears the last entered number or calculation entry without affecting previous operations.
  • AC: Clears all entries, calculations, and resets the calculator to zero.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the calculator with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the calculator in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
