3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the motherboard from its packaging. Inspect for any visible damage during transit. Ensure all accessories listed in the packing list are present.

3.2 CPU Installation

Follow these steps to install the CPU into the LGA 2011-3 socket:

  1. Press down on the lever located next to the CPU socket and lift it to open the retention mechanism.
  2. Carefully open the CPU cover.
  3. Align the triangular mark on the CPU with the corresponding mark on the socket. Gently place the CPU into the socket without forcing it.
  4. Remove the plastic CPU cover from the socket.
  5. Align the groove of the lever with the screw hole and lower the lever to secure the CPU. Ensure the lever clicks into place.

Important Considerations: Do not touch the CPU contacts or pins on the motherboard with your hands to prevent damage from static electricity or contamination.

3.3 Memory (RAM) Installation

The motherboard features four DDR4 DIMM slots. Install memory modules by:

  1. Opening the clips at both ends of the DIMM slot.
  2. Aligning the notch on the memory module with the key in the DIMM slot.
  3. Pressing down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.

For optimal performance, install memory modules in a 4-channel configuration as recommended by your CPU and memory specifications.

3.4 Storage Device Installation

The motherboard supports both SATA and M.2 storage devices.

  • SATA Drives: Connect SATA data cables from your SSDs or HDDs to the SATA 3.0 (6GB/s) or SATA 2.0 (3GB/s) ports on the motherboard.
  • M.2 Drives: Insert NVMe or NGFF M.2 drives into the designated M.2 slots. Secure the drive with the provided screw.

3.5 Expansion Card Installation

Install graphics cards or other PCI Express expansion cards into the PCI Express x16 or x1 slots. Ensure the card is fully seated and secured with a screw to the chassis.

3.6 Power Supply Connections

Connect the main 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8-pin ATX CPU power connector from your power supply unit (PSU) to the corresponding ports on the motherboard. Ensure connections are firm.

3.7 I/O Panel Connections

Connect peripherals to the rear I/O panel ports:

  • PS/2 Ports: For legacy keyboard and mouse.
  • USB 2.0 Ports: Four ports for various USB devices.
  • USB 3.0 Ports: Two ports for high-speed USB devices.
  • RJ45 Port: For network cable connection.
  • Audio Jacks: Three 3-in-1 jacks for line-in, line-out, and microphone.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Initial Power On and BIOS Access

After all components are installed and connected, power on your system. During the boot process, repeatedly press the designated key (usually DEL or F2) to enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility. Here you can configure boot order, system time, and other advanced settings.

4.2 Operating System Installation

Insert your operating system installation media (USB drive or DVD) and follow the on-screen prompts to install your preferred operating system.

4.3 Driver Installation

After operating system installation, install the necessary drivers for the motherboard's components (chipset, LAN, audio, etc.). These are typically provided on a support CD or available for download from the manufacturer's website.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean dust from your computer's interior, especially around the motherboard and CPU cooler, using compressed air. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.

5.2 BIOS Updates

Periodically check the manufacturer's website for BIOS updates. BIOS updates can improve system stability, add support for new hardware, or fix bugs. Follow the update instructions carefully to avoid damaging the motherboard.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 No Power / No POST (Power-On Self-Test)

  • Verify all power cables (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU) are securely connected.
  • Ensure the power supply is switched on and functioning correctly.
  • Check front panel connections (power button, reset button) to the motherboard.
  • Try booting with only essential components (CPU, one RAM stick, graphics card if no integrated graphics).

6.2 Component Not Detected

  • RAM: Reseat memory modules. Ensure they are compatible with the motherboard.
  • Storage: Check SATA data and power cables. For M.2 drives, ensure they are fully seated and secured. Verify BIOS settings for M.2 mode (NVMe/SATA).
  • PCIe Card: Reseat the expansion card. Ensure additional power connectors are attached if required.

6.3 System Instability / Crashes

  • Ensure all drivers are up to date.
  • Check CPU and GPU temperatures to prevent overheating.
  • Run memory diagnostic tools to check for faulty RAM.
  • Verify power supply wattage is sufficient for all components.
