Thank you for choosing the Donner DDP-95 Digital Piano. This instrument features an 88-key weighted keyboard with 16-level touch sensitivity, designed to provide a realistic piano playing experience. It includes a wide array of tones, rhythms, teaching modes, and connectivity options to support both learning and creative expression. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your DDP-95 digital piano.

1. Setup and Assembly

1.1 Unboxing and Components

Carefully unpack all components from the box. Ensure the following items are present:

  • Donner DDP-95 Digital Piano Unit
  • Piano Stand Components (legs, crossbar)
  • 3-Pedal Unit
  • Power Adapter
  • User Manual

1.2 Assembly Instructions

Follow these steps to assemble your digital piano:

  1. Attach the side legs to the crossbar using the provided screws. Ensure all connections are secure.
  2. Carefully place the main piano unit onto the assembled stand. Align the mounting points on the piano with the stand.
  3. Secure the piano unit to the stand using the remaining screws. Do not overtighten.
  4. Connect the 3-pedal unit cable to the designated pedal jack on the underside of the piano.
  5. Connect the power adapter to the DC power jack on the piano and then plug it into a wall outlet.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Power On/Off

Press the POWER button located on the control panel to turn the piano on or off. The LCD screen will illuminate upon power-on.

The DDP-95 offers a range of features accessible via its control panel and LCD display. These include various tones, rhythms, teaching modes, recording capabilities, and connectivity options.

2.3 Tones and Rhythms

The DDP-95 includes 610 different tones and 600 rhythms. Use the dedicated TONE and RHYTHM selection buttons and the data entry knob to browse and select your desired sounds and accompaniments.

2.4 Teaching Modes

For beginners, the DDP-95 features 3 piano teaching modes and 110 demo songs. These modes provide guided learning and inspiration. Refer to the on-screen prompts and the detailed instructions in the full manual for specific usage of each teaching mode.

2.5 Wireless Connectivity and Recording

2.7 Pedal System

The DDP-95 features a metal 3-pedal system for expressive playing:

  • Soft Pedal: Reduces the volume and alters the timbre of the notes.
  • Sostenuto Pedal: Sustains only the notes held down at the moment the pedal is pressed.
  • Sustain Pedal: Sustains all notes played while the pedal is held down.

2.8 Connections

The DDP-95 provides various connection ports for versatility:

  • DC Power Jack (12V 3A): For connecting the power adapter.
  • Headphone Jack (1/4" / 6.35 mm): For private practice.
  • Single Pedal Jack (1/4" / 6.35 mm): For connecting an external sustain pedal if desired.
  • Audio In/Out Jack (1/4" / 6.35 mm): For connecting external audio devices or outputting audio to amplifiers.
  • USB-MIDI Jack: For connecting to computers, smartphones, or tablets for MIDI data transfer.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning

To clean the piano, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water and a mild soap solution, then wipe dry immediately. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or waxes, as these can damage the finish.

3.2 Storage and Environment

Store the piano in a stable environment, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. Avoid placing heavy objects on the keyboard or control panel. Ensure proper ventilation around the instrument.

4. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DDP-95, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • No Sound:
    • Check if the power is on and the volume is turned up.
    • Ensure headphones are not plugged in, or if they are, check their connection and volume.
    • Verify that the correct tone is selected and not set to a silent patch.
  • Keys Not Responding:
    • Restart the piano.
    • Ensure no foreign objects are lodged between the keys.
  • Connectivity Issues (Bluetooth/USB-MIDI):
    • Ensure the piano's Bluetooth is enabled and discoverable.
    • Check USB cable connections and ensure necessary drivers are installed on your computer.
