Featuring sharp 2K video resolution, Color Vision in low light, and two-year battery life, this camera offers reliable outdoor surveillance. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Blink Outdoor 2K+ camera.

What's Included

Your Blink Outdoor 2K+ package includes the following items:

Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Blink Outdoor 2K+ camera operates on two AA 1.5V lithium metal batteries, providing up to two years of battery life under typical usage conditions.

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the camera.
  2. Open the compartment cover.
  3. Insert the two included AA 1.5V lithium batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely to maintain weather resistance.

2. Connecting to a Blink Sync Module (Sold Separately)

A Blink Sync Module is essential for the camera's operation, enabling communication with the Blink app and extending battery life. Ensure your Sync Module is powered on and connected to your Wi-Fi network.

3. App Installation and Camera Pairing

Download the Blink Home Monitor app to your smartphone or tablet to set up and manage your camera.

  1. Download the "Blink Home Monitor" app from your device's app store.
  2. Create a new Blink account or log in to an existing one.
  3. Follow the in-app instructions to add your new Blink Outdoor 2K+ camera. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the camera and connecting it to your Sync Module.
  4. Ensure your smartphone meets the minimum requirements: iOS 16.4+, Android 10+, or Fire OS 8 only.

4. Mounting the Camera

Use the included mounting kit to securely install your camera in your desired outdoor location.

  1. Choose a location that provides the desired field of view (115° x 62° x 135°) and is within range of your Sync Module's signal.
  2. Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark screw holes.
  3. Drill pilot holes if necessary and secure the bracket to the surface using the provided screws.
  4. Attach the camera to the mounting bracket and adjust its angle for optimal coverage.

Operating the Camera

1. Video Resolution Settings

The Blink Outdoor 2K+ offers various video quality settings to balance detail and battery life:

2. Color Vision in Low Light

The camera can provide color video in low-light conditions if sufficient ambient light is present. If ambient light is insufficient, the camera will automatically switch to infrared (black and white) mode.

Utilize the two-way audio feature to communicate with visitors or deter unwanted activity. The camera includes advanced noise cancellation for clear conversations.

4. Smart Detection

With an optional Blink Subscription Plan (sold separately), the camera offers smart notifications for person and vehicle detection, reducing unnecessary alerts.
