4. Setup

The PHILIPS Countertop RO Water Filter System is designed for easy setup without the need for plumbing installation.

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  2. Placement: Place the main dispenser unit on a clean, stable, and level countertop surface, ensuring adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Clean Tanks: Wash the raw water tank and portable filtered jug with mild soap and water, then rinse thoroughly.
  4. Install Filter: Refer to the 'Filter Replacement' section for instructions on installing the 6-in-1 RO filter cartridge. Ensure it is securely twisted into place.
  5. Fill Raw Water Tank: Fill the raw water tank with potable tap water and place it securely onto the main unit.
  6. Power On: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. The system will power on and begin its initial purification cycle.
  7. Initial Flush: Dispense and discard the first two full tanks of filtered water to flush the system and activate the filter.

5. Operating Instructions

The intuitive touch panel allows for easy selection of water temperature and volume.

5.1 Dispensing Water

  1. Select Temperature: On the touch panel, choose your desired water temperature. Options typically include:
    • Cold (40°F)
    • Ambient
    • Warm (113°F & 130°F)
    • Hot (185°F & 203°F)
  2. Select Volume: Choose the desired dispensing volume. Options typically include 8oz, 12oz, 24oz, and 32oz.
  3. Dispense: Place your cup or container under the dispenser nozzle and press the water making button. The system will dispense the selected volume at the chosen temperature.
  4. Stop Dispensing: To stop dispensing before the selected volume is reached, press the water making button again.

5.2 TDS Monitor

The real-time TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) display on the control panel shows the TDS levels of both incoming tap water (TDS In) and purified water (TDS Out). This provides assurance of the system's filtration performance.

5.3 Safety Lock

The system includes a safety lock feature, especially important for hot water dispensing, to prevent accidental activation. Refer to the on-screen indicators or specific instructions on the control panel for activating and deactivating the safety lock.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Filter Replacement

The 6-in-1 RO filter cartridge has an estimated service life of up to 12 months, depending on usage and water quality. The system will typically provide a filter lifetime reminder on the display.

  2. Remove Tanks: Remove both the raw water tank and the portable filtered jug.

6.2 Cleaning the Unit

  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Tanks: Regularly clean the raw water tank and filtered jug with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue.
  • Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray as needed.
