1. Product Overview

The mGYDY 36V/48V KT 15A Ebike Brushless Motor Controller is designed to provide stable speed control and sensitive braking for 250-350W e-bike brushless motors. Constructed with an aluminum alloy shell, it features excellent heat dissipation to protect internal circuits. This controller is compatible with KT accessories and includes a 1T5 cable for comprehensive connectivity.

Important Note: This controller requires a compatible KT display for operation.

3. Setup and Installation

Before installation, ensure your e-bike motor is within the 250-350W range and that you have a compatible KT display. Disconnect power from your e-bike battery before proceeding with any connections.

3.1 Connecting the Controller

The controller features various waterproof connectors for precise and secure connections. Identify the corresponding ports on your e-bike system.

• Motor Connection: Connect the large 9-pin waterproof plug from the controller to your e-bike motor.
• Power Connection: Connect the XT60 power plug from the controller to your e-bike battery.
• Display Connection: The controller must be connected to a KT display via the appropriate cable.
• Brake Levers: Connect your e-bike brake levers to the designated 2-pin brake plugs on the 1T5 cable.
• Throttle/Dial Handle: Connect your throttle or dial handle to the 3-pin plug on the 1T5 cable.
• Lamp Line: If applicable, connect your e-bike lights to the 2-pin lamp line plug.

3.2 1T5 Cable Connections

The 1T5 cable consolidates multiple connections for a cleaner setup. Ensure each plug is correctly matched to its corresponding component.

• 9-Pin Controller: Connects to the main controller unit.
• 2-Pin Lamp Line: For e-bike lighting.
• 3-Pin Dial Handle: For throttle or speed control.

• 2-Pin Brake (x2): For connecting two brake levers.

Ensure all connections are firm and waterproof plugs are fully seated to prevent moisture ingress.

4. Operating Instructions

Once all connections are securely made and verified, you can power on your e-bike system. The controller will work in conjunction with your KT display to manage motor functions.

• Power On: Turn on your e-bike battery and then the KT display.
• Speed Control: Use your e-bike's throttle or pedal-assist system (PAS) to control motor speed. The controller provides steady speed output.
• Braking: The controller offers sensitive braking control. Engaging the brake levers will cut motor power, enhancing safety.
• Display Functions: Refer to your KT display's manual for specific operational modes, settings, and error codes.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your controller.

• Cleaning: Keep the controller's exterior clean and free from dirt and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
• Heat Dissipation: The aluminum alloy housing is designed for efficient heat dissipation. Ensure the controller is mounted in a location with adequate airflow and not covered by other components.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Check all connections between the controller, motor, and display for looseness or damage.
  • Ensure the KT display is correctly connected and powered on.
• Erratic Speed Control:
  • Inspect the throttle/dial handle connection for any issues.
  • Check for any loose motor phase wires.
• Brakes Not Functioning Correctly:
  • Ensure brake lever connections to the 1T5 cable are secure.
  • Verify that the brake levers themselves are mechanically sound.
• Overheating:
  • Ensure the controller is not obstructed and has adequate airflow.
  • Confirm the motor power (250-350W) is within the controller's specified range.
