5. Setup and First Use

5.1 Unpacking and Placement

  1. Carefully remove all packaging materials and inspect the ice maker for any damage.
  2. Place the ice maker on a flat, stable, and level surface, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ensure there is at least 6 inches of space around the unit for proper ventilation.
  3. Allow the unit to stand upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in, especially if it was transported horizontally. This allows the refrigerant to settle.

5.2 Initial Cleaning

  1. Before first use, clean the interior of the ice maker. Remove the ice basket and wash it with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
  2. Wipe the interior water reservoir with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a small amount of vinegar or mild detergent. Rinse by wiping with a clean, damp cloth.
  3. Ensure all parts are dry before proceeding.

5.3 First Ice Making Cycle

  1. Plug the ice maker into a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. Open the lid and fill the water reservoir with clean, potable water up to the MAX fill line. Do not overfill.
  3. Close the lid.
  4. Press the 'ON/OFF' button to start the ice making process. The unit will default to a medium ice size.
  5. Discard the first 2-3 cycles of ice produced to ensure any manufacturing residues are flushed out.

6. Operation

6.1 Making Ice

  1. Ensure the water reservoir is filled with water.
  2. Press the 'ON/OFF' button to power on the unit.
  3. To select ice cube size, press the 'SELECT' button. The indicator light for 'S' (Small) or 'L' (Large) will illuminate.
  4. The ice maker will begin producing ice. The first batch typically takes 6-13 minutes.
  5. When the ice basket is full, the 'ICE FULL' indicator will light up, and the unit will pause operation. Remove ice from the basket to resume production.
  6. If the water level is low, the 'ADD WATER' indicator will light up, and the unit will pause. Add water to the reservoir to resume.

6.2 Digital Touch Control Panel

The control panel features intuitive buttons and indicator lights:

  • ON/OFF Button: Powers the unit on or off.
  • SELECT Button: Toggles between Small (S) and Large (L) ice cube sizes.
  • CLEAN Button: Initiates the self-cleaning cycle.
  • ADD WATER Indicator: Illuminates when the water reservoir needs refilling.
  • ICE FULL Indicator: Illuminates when the ice basket is full.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ice maker.

7.1 Self-Cleaning Function

The self-cleaning function helps remove mineral buildup and maintain hygiene. It is recommended to run this cycle once a week or as needed.

  1. Ensure the ice basket is empty.
  2. Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the MAX line. You may add a small amount of white vinegar (approx. 1:10 vinegar to water ratio) for enhanced cleaning.
  3. Press and hold the 'CLEAN' button for 3-5 seconds to activate the self-cleaning cycle. The unit will circulate water internally.
  4. The cleaning cycle typically lasts for a few minutes. Once complete, the unit will stop.
  5. Unplug the unit and drain the water by removing the drain plug located at the bottom of the unit.
  6. Rinse the interior thoroughly with clean water and drain again.

7.2 Regular Cleaning

  • Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Clean the ice scoop and ice basket regularly with warm, soapy water.
  • For long-term storage, drain all water from the reservoir and dry the interior thoroughly. Store the unit in a cool, dry place.
