2. Compatibility
This adapter is compatible with Peugeot and Citroen vehicles equipped with SMEG/MRN systems manufactured between 2013 and 2016. Compatible models include, but are not limited to, Peugeot 208, 308, 508, 3008, 408, 5008, and Citroen C4, C5, C6, DS3, DS4, DS5. Important: This wireless CarPlay adapter is only compatible with SMEG and MRN systems, not NAC systems. Please verify your vehicle's OEM system before ordering. 4. Setup and Installation
Installation requires basic automotive electrical knowledge and tools. If you are not comfortable performing the installation yourself, it is recommended to seek professional assistance.
4.1 Required Tools
- T20 Torx screwdriver
- Radio removal keys
- Trim removal tool for the center console
4.2 Wiring Diagram and Connections
Refer to the wiring diagram below for proper connection of the adapter module to your vehicle's system.

- Connect the WiFi Antenna to the adapter module.
- Connect the LVDS cable.
- Connect the original car's main unit cable to the adapter's input.
- Connect the adapter's output to the original car's main unit.
- Connect the USB port for updates or external devices.
- Connect the AUX cable for audio output.
- Connect the power cable, ensuring correct polarity (Yellow: B+, Red: ACC, Black: GND).
- For rear-view camera functionality, connect the REAR-CVBS input and the reversing detection wire to the reverse light cable or 360 panoramic detection line.
- For front-view camera, connect the FRONT-CVBS input.
4.3 DIP Switch Settings (for specific configurations)
For vehicles without an original reverse camera, adjust DIP switch settings on the adapter module:
- Set DIP switch 2 to ON.
- Set DIP switches 1, 3, and 4 to OFF.
After setting the DIP switches, access the module's settings, navigate to "Advanced Features," and enable the "Original Camera" option.
4.4 Important Installation Notes
- Ensure all connectors are fully seated and locked.
- Verify that the provided wiring harness matches your vehicle's original connectors. Some Citroen C4 Cactus 2018 models with SMEG systems may require a specific PSA SMEG Y harness. Contact support if you encounter incompatible connectors.
- Proper cable routing is essential to prevent pinching or damage.
5. Operating Instructions
The CARabc adapter allows you to use Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, along with screen mirroring, while retaining original vehicle controls.

5.1 Switching to CarPlay/Android Auto Interface
To switch between the original vehicle system and the adapter's interface (CarPlay/Android Auto), perform a long press on the designated button, typically on the steering wheel or center console (refer to Figure 5.3, button ①).
5.2 Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto
- Connectivity: Once installed, the adapter enables wireless connection to your iPhone (for CarPlay) or Android smartphone (for Android Auto).
- Features: Access navigation maps, phone contacts, emails, notifications, and music directly on your car's display.
- Voice Assistant: Utilize intelligent voice assistants (Siri for CarPlay, Google Assistant for Android Auto) for hands-free control.

5.3 Screen Mirroring (AirPlay/AutoLink)
The adapter supports screen mirroring for both iPhone (AirPlay) and Android smartphones (AutoLink). This allows you to cast or share content such as videos (Netflix, YouTube), maps, and other applications from your phone to your car's screen.
5.4 Original Vehicle Button Control
The adapter maintains compatibility with your vehicle's original buttons and steering wheel controls. This includes:
- Switching System (①): Long press to switch between the original system and the adapter's interface.
- Call Control (②): Short press to answer or hang up a phone call. Long press to activate voice control (without using the original car's Bluetooth).
- Volume Control (③): Short press to adjust volume up or down.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Audio Output:
- Ensure the AUX input is correctly selected on your car's original head unit.
- If using the original car's Bluetooth for calls, ensure the adapter's settings are configured to use the original Bluetooth for audio.
- Some users report needing to connect to the car's original Bluetooth first, then activate CarPlay/Android Auto for audio to function correctly.
- Original Reverse Camera Not Working:
- Verify DIP switch settings (refer to Section 4.3).
- In the adapter's settings, go to "Advanced Features" and ensure "Original Camera" option is enabled.
- If the adapter is active, it might override the original video signal. You may need to switch back to the SMEG menu to use the original reverse camera, then return to the adapter's menu.
- Incompatible Wiring Harness:
- If the provided Quadlock connector does not match your vehicle's original connector (e.g., different keying or pin layout), contact CARabc support immediately. You may require a specific PSA SMEG Y harness.
- Difficulty with Setup/Configuration:
- The setup process can be complex. Refer to the detailed instructions in Section 4.
