6. Maintenance

  • MicroSD Card: For continuous and reliable recording, use a High Endurance MicroSD card (U1 Class 10 or higher). Regularly format the card (e.g., monthly) through the dash cam settings to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
  • Lens Cleaning: Keep the front and rear camera lenses clean from dust, dirt, and smudges to ensure clear video quality. Use a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check for and install firmware updates via the 70mai app to ensure your dash cam has the latest features and bug fixes.
  • Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods when the vehicle is parked, as this can affect battery life and component longevity.

7. Troubleshooting

Q: Why are recorded videos not accessible remotely via the app?
A: The 70mai app connects to the dash cam via its local Wi-Fi hotspot. You must be within range of the dash cam (typically inside the vehicle) and connected to its Wi-Fi network to view or download recordings. Remote access over the internet is not supported by this model.
Q: The rear camera footage appears dim or unclear at night.
A: Ensure the rear camera lens and your vehicle's rear windshield are clean. Moisture, dirt, or strong headlights from vehicles behind you can affect night vision performance. While the dash cam has enhanced night vision, extreme low-light conditions or glare can still impact clarity.
Q: The dash cam is not powering on or recording.
A: Check the power connection. Ensure the car charger is securely plugged into the cigarette lighter socket and the power cable is firmly connected to the dash cam. Verify that your vehicle's ignition is on. If using a hardwire kit, ensure it is correctly installed and receiving power.
Q: The dash cam frequently stops recording or shows a "card error."
A: This often indicates an issue with the MicroSD card. Ensure you are using a High Endurance card. Try formatting the card through the dash cam's settings. If the issue persists, the card may be faulty and require replacement.
