Safety Instructions

Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the pump. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Electrical Safety: Always disconnect the pump from the power source before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or when the pump is not in use. Ensure the power cord and plug are in good condition and free from damage. Do not operate the pump with a damaged cord or plug. The pump must be properly grounded.

Setup

  1. Unpacking and Inspection: Carefully remove the pump and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage during transit. If any damage is found, do not proceed with installation and contact customer support.
  2. Connecting the Discharge Hose: Select the appropriate hose adapter (Ø1”, Ø1-1/4”, 1” NPT, or 3/4”NPT) that matches your discharge hose. Securely attach the adapter to the pump's outlet. Then, connect your discharge hose to the adapter. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
  3. Pump Placement: Place the pump on a stable, level surface in the area to be drained. Ensure the intake area at the bottom of the pump is clear of any debris that could block water flow. The pump's higher bottom plate design helps prevent debris collection.
  4. Electrical Connection: Ensure the power outlet is a standard 110-120V/60Hz grounded outlet. Plug the pump's 26-foot power cord into the outlet. Do not use extension cords unless absolutely necessary, and ensure any extension cord is rated for outdoor use and the pump's power requirements.

Operating Instructions

  1. Submerge the Pump: Carefully lower the pump into the water to be drained. Ensure the pump is fully submerged before powering it on. The maximum submersible depth is 16 feet.
  2. Start Pumping: Once the pump is submerged and the discharge hose is properly routed, plug the pump into a grounded electrical outlet. The pump will begin to operate, transferring water through the discharge hose.
  3. Monitor Operation: Observe the pump's operation to ensure water is being discharged effectively and there are no leaks.
  4. Stop Pumping: To stop the pump, simply unplug it from the electrical outlet.
  5. Drainage Completion: Once the desired water level is reached, or the area is drained, unplug the pump. Lift the pump out of the water, allowing any remaining water to drain from the unit.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pump. Always disconnect power before maintenance.

  • Cleaning the Intake: Periodically inspect the pump's intake screen at the bottom for debris such as leaves, mud, or small stones. Clean any blockages to ensure unrestricted water flow.
  • Hose Inspection: Check the discharge hose for kinks, blockages, or damage. Ensure it is securely attached to the pump.
  • Power Cord and Housing: Inspect the power cord for cuts, fraying, or other damage. Check the pump's thermoplastic body for cracks or leaks.
  • Storage: If storing the pump for an extended period, especially in freezing temperatures, ensure all water is drained from the pump and hose to prevent damage from ice expansion. Store in a dry, protected area.
