Setup

Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the tester handle.
  2. Slide or unclip the cover to open the compartment.
  3. Insert the required batteries (typically AAA, refer to the battery compartment for specific type and polarity) ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Power On/Off

Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection

  1. Press the NCV button (if available) or simply bring the tip of the tester close to the wire, outlet, or circuit you wish to test.
  2. The LCD display will show voltage readings, and the device will emit a buzzer alarm and illuminate LED indicators if AC voltage is detected.
  3. A green backlight typically indicates a weak electric field, while a red backlight indicates a strong electric field.

Live/Null Wire Identification

  1. Insert the metal tip of the tester into the live wire or the live slot of an outlet. The LCD will display voltage, and the buzzer will sound.
  2. Insert the metal tip into the null (neutral) wire or the neutral slot of an outlet. The LCD will typically show a lower or zero voltage, and the buzzer may not sound or will be less intense.
