4.1 Device Layout

5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
- Open the battery cover.
- Insert three (3) AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery cover securely.
5.2 Connecting Thermocouple Probes
- Identify the desired thermocouple probe (K-type stainless steel or K-type wired).
- Insert the probe's connector into either the T1 or T2 channel port on top of the thermometer. Ensure a firm connection.
- For dual-channel measurement, connect a second probe to the remaining port.
- The thermometer supports both K and J type thermocouples. The default type is K. To switch to J type, long press the HOLD / UNIT / TYPE button.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
- Press the Power button (
) to turn the thermometer ON. - Press and hold the Power button for approximately 2 seconds to turn the thermometer OFF.
6.2 Basic Temperature Measurement
- After powering on, the display will show the current temperature readings for T1 and T2 (if two probes are connected).
- The differential temperature (T1-T2 or T2-T1) can also be displayed.
- Place the probe tips into the substance or area you wish to measure. Allow a few moments for the reading to stabilize.
6.3 Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F) and Thermocouple Type (K/J)
- To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F), press and hold the HOLD / UNIT / TYPE button until the unit changes.
- To switch between K-type and J-type thermocouples, press and hold the HOLD / UNIT / TYPE button until the type changes.
6.4 Data Hold Function
- Press the HOLD / UNIT / TYPE button briefly to freeze the current temperature readings on the display. The "HOLD" indicator will appear.
- Press the button again to release the hold and resume live readings.
6.5 MAX/MIN/AVG Function
- Press the MAX / MIN / AVG / Backlight button briefly to cycle through the maximum (MAX), minimum (MIN), and average (AVG) temperature readings recorded since the device was powered on or the function was reset.
- To reset the MAX/MIN/AVG values, press and hold the MAX / MIN / AVG / Backlight button until the display clears and restarts recording.
6.6 High/Low Temperature Alarm Setting
The thermometer features a high and low temperature alarm. When the measured temperature exceeds the set high limit or falls below the set low limit, a red backlight will flash, and an audible alarm may sound (if enabled).

- Press the HI button to set the high temperature alarm limit. Use the up/down arrows (often integrated with other buttons, refer to device layout) to adjust the value. Press HI again to confirm.
- Press the LOW button to set the low temperature alarm limit. Adjust the value and press LOW again to confirm.
- To disable the alarm, set the HI limit to its maximum value or the LOW limit to its minimum value, or refer to specific instructions for disabling.
