2. Setup
2.1 Wiring Instructions
Ensure all power is disconnected before wiring. The controller uses quick-connect Wago-style ports for convenient and secure connections. Follow the steps below for proper wiring:
- Prepare Wires: Strip approximately 10mm of insulation from your LED strip wires (data, ground, power) and power supply wires (V+, GND).
- Open Connector: For each terminal, gently lift the orange lever upwards to open the port.
- Insert Wire: Insert the stripped wire fully into the corresponding port.
- Secure Connection: Press the orange lever down firmly to secure the wire. Ensure the connection is tight by gently pulling on the wire.

2.2 Initial WLED App Connection
To configure your controller, you will use the WLED application. Ensure your controller is powered on.
- Power On: Connect the controller to a compatible DC 5-24V power supply.
- Connect to Access Point: On your smartphone or computer, search for Wi-Fi networks. You should find a network named "WLED-AP" (or similar). Connect to this network.
- Access Configuration Page: Open a web browser and navigate to http://4.3.2.1. This will open the WLED configuration interface.
- Configure Wi-Fi: In the WLED interface, go to "WiFi Setup" and enter your home Wi-Fi network's SSID and password. Save the settings.
- Reconnect: The controller will restart and attempt to connect to your home Wi-Fi. Reconnect your device to your home Wi-Fi network.
- Find Controller: Open the WLED app (available on iOS/Android) or access the controller via its assigned IP address on your network.
2.3 Microphone Configuration
For music synchronization features, the built-in microphone needs initial configuration within the WLED app. After a factory reset, these parameters must be set for the first time, followed by a device restart.
- Microphone type: Generic I2S
- I2S SD pin: 26
- I2S WS pin: 5
- I2S SCK pin: 21

2.4 Relay Configuration for Energy Saving
The controller includes an energy-saving relay. When configured, this relay cuts power to the LED strip when the controller is off, preventing standby power consumption. This feature can be enabled in the WLED app settings.

3. Operating
The Sogledwow ESP32 WLED LED Strip Controller is operated primarily through the WLED application, offering extensive control over your lighting setup.
3.1 WLED App Control
Once connected to your Wi-Fi network, the WLED app allows you to:
- Adjust Colors: Select from a full spectrum of colors using a color wheel.
- Apply Effects: Choose from over 100 dynamic lighting effects, including rainbow waves, fire flicker, and meteor trails.
- Segment Control: Individually control each of the four output channels. This allows for different effects or colors on separate LED strips.
- Brightness Adjustment: Control the overall brightness of your LED strips.
- Save Presets: Create and save your favorite lighting configurations as presets for quick access.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Firmware Updates
The controller supports firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and access to new features. Updates can be performed in two ways:
- OTA (Over-The-Air) Updates: Update the firmware directly through the WLED app when connected to your Wi-Fi network.
- Wired UART Upgrades: For advanced users or in cases of connectivity issues, firmware can be updated via a wired UART connection using the Type-C port. This may require opening the controller case.

4.2 General Care
- Keep the controller in a dry environment, away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid exposing the device to direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the controller to prevent overheating.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Common Issues and Solutions
- Controller not connecting to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure you are connecting to the correct "WLED-AP" network during initial setup.
- Verify your home Wi-Fi SSID and password are entered correctly in the WLED app.
- Check if the controller is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
- Try restarting both the controller and your Wi-Fi router.
- Some mobile device Wi-Fi settings may need adjustment (e.g., disabling 'Smart Network Switch' or similar features that automatically switch networks).
- LED strips flickering or unstable:
- Confirm all wiring connections are secure and correct (data, ground, power).
- Ensure your power supply is adequate for the total length and type of LED strips connected.
- The built-in TI Level Shifter IC helps stabilize data signals; ensure it's functioning correctly.
- Check for shorts in the LED strip wiring.
- Consider reducing the number of LEDs or using a more powerful supply if the issue persists.
- Music sync not working:
- Verify that the microphone parameters are correctly configured in the WLED app (Section 2.3).
- Ensure the controller has been restarted after microphone configuration.
- Check the microphone sensitivity settings in the WLED app.
- LEDs not turning off completely (standby power):
- Enable and configure the energy-saving relay feature in the WLED app (Section 2.4).
