1. Setup and Assembly

The KAER 12-15 Gun Safe (Model 1400C) is designed for straightforward assembly, typically taking around 90 minutes. All panels are pre-labeled for ease of installation. It is recommended to have assistance during assembly due to the product's weight.

1.1 Unpacking and Component Identification

Carefully unpack all components and verify against the packing list. The package includes pre-labeled panels, 3 gun racks, 4 pistol pockets, and heavy-duty bolts for assembly.

1.2 Assembly Steps

1. Begin by attaching the side panels to the front door frame using the provided hardware.
2. Secure the top and back panels to the assembled frame.
3. Install the bottom panel, ensuring all connections are tight and secure.
4. Once the main structure is complete, install the internal components such as the adjustable rifle racks and removable shelf.

1.3 Secure Installation (Anchoring)

For enhanced security, the gun safe should be anchored to a wall or floor. Four expansion bolts are included for this purpose. Pre-drilled anchor holes are located on the back of the safe.

1.4 Internal Organization

The safe features a customizable interior to maximize storage efficiency:

• Adjustable Rifle Racks: Three adjustable rifle racks accommodate various firearm lengths, including scoped rifles up to 45 inches.
• Removable Shelf: A removable shelf provides versatility for storing ammunition or other valuables.
• Door Organizer: The door is equipped with 4 pistol pockets, elastic ammo straps, and 2 storage bags for organizing magazines, optics, and accessories.
• Magnetic Lamp: A magnetic lamp with a charging port is included to illuminate the interior.

2. Operating Instructions

The KAER 12-15 Gun Safe offers two primary unlocking methods for secure and convenient access.

2.1 Unlocking Methods

• Digital Password: The safe can be opened using a digital password ranging from 3 to 12 digits.
• Emergency Key: Two emergency keys are provided for manual access, particularly useful if the digital system's battery is depleted.

2.2 Silent Mode Activation

For discreet access, the safe features a Silent Mode. To activate or deactivate, press '11#' on the digital keypad. This eliminates vibration-free entry sounds.

2.3 Battery Power

The digital locking system is powered by batteries located inside the door. In case of low battery, an external battery compartment is available to temporarily power the system for access.

3. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your KAER Gun Safe.

• Cleaning: Wipe the exterior and interior surfaces with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners that may damage the finish.
• Battery Replacement: Periodically check the battery level of the digital lock. Replace batteries as needed to prevent lockout. Use high-quality alkaline batteries.
• Lock Mechanism: Ensure the locking bolts operate smoothly. Do not lubricate the lock mechanism unless specifically instructed by the manufacturer.
• Anchoring Bolts: Periodically check the tightness of the anchoring bolts to ensure the safe remains securely fixed to the wall or floor.

4. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your gun safe.

• Safe Not Opening with Digital Code:
  • Check the batteries. If low, use the external battery compartment or the emergency keys.
  • Ensure the correct digital password is being entered.
  • If 3 failed PIN attempts occur, the anti-theft system will lock down the safe for 5 minutes. Wait for the lockout period to end before trying again.
• Keys Not Working: Ensure the correct emergency key is being used and inserted fully.
• Door Not Closing Properly: Check for any obstructions inside the safe or around the door frame that might prevent it from closing completely.
• Assembly Difficulties: If you encounter any problems during the assembly process, refer to the detailed manual or contact customer support.
