1. Product Overview

The FOTING 1HP Automatic Submersible Water Pump is designed for efficient water drainage in various applications such as swimming pools, ponds, and basements. This utility pump features a 1HP motor capable of draining water up to 4600 GPH (76 GPM) and lifting water up to 31 feet vertically. Its automatic water sensor ensures drainage to a low level of 1/5 inch and stops operation 15 seconds after water is no longer detected.

2. Safety Information

3. Setup and Installation

1. Attach Discharge Hose: The pump comes with a NPT 1-1/2" discharge size, a NPT 3/4" garden hose adapter, and a hose adapter that fits Φ1-1/2", Φ1", or NPT 1" inch hoses. Select the appropriate adapter for your hose and securely attach it to the pump's discharge outlet.

2. Position the Pump: Place the pump on a stable, flat surface in the area to be drained. Ensure the pump is fully submerged in the water. For optimal performance, submerge the pump at an angle initially to allow any trapped air to escape.
3. Connect Power: Plug the 16-foot power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet meets the pump's electrical requirements.

4. Operating Instructions

The FOTING 1HP Automatic Sump Pump features an intelligent water sensor for automated operation.

• Automatic Start: The pump will automatically start when the water level covers the integrated sensor.
• Automatic Shut-Off: The pump will automatically stop after 15 seconds when the water level is below 1/5 inch, ensuring minimal residual water.
• Customizable Water Control: The pump features four locating holes (A, B, C, D) for the sensor, allowing you to adjust the activation depth for varying water removal needs.

  • Inspect the intake screen at the bottom of the pump for blockages. Clean if necessary.
  • Check the discharge hose for kinks or obstructions.
  • Ensure the hose diameter is appropriate for the desired flow.
• Pump Runs Continuously:
  • Check if the water sensor is clean and free of debris.
  • Ensure the pump is positioned correctly and the water level drops below the shut-off threshold.
• Pump Overheats and Shuts Off:
  • The pump has a built-in thermal overload protector. Allow the pump to cool down before restarting.
  • Ensure the pump is fully submerged and not running dry.
  • Check for blockages that might be causing the motor to work harder.
