5.1 Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Confirm your TV's weight and VESA pattern are within the mount's specifications.
  • Identify the type of wall you are mounting to (wood stud, concrete, or brick).
  • Determine the desired height and position for your TV.

5.2 Attaching TV Brackets to TV

  1. Carefully place your TV face down on a soft, clean surface.
  2. Identify the VESA mounting holes on the back of your TV.
  3. Select the appropriate screws, washers, and spacers from the hardware kit that fit your TV's mounting holes.
  4. Attach the two TV bracket arms to the back of your TV, ensuring they are level and securely fastened. Do not overtighten.

5.3 Mounting the Wall Plate

  1. For Wood Studs: Use a stud finder to locate the center of two adjacent wood studs. Mark the drill holes for the wall plate. Drill pilot holes.
  2. For Concrete/Brick Walls: Mark the drill holes. Drill pilot holes using a masonry drill bit. Insert concrete anchors into the holes.
  3. Position the wall plate over the drilled holes and secure it using the appropriate lag bolts and washers. Use a level to ensure the wall plate is perfectly horizontal before fully tightening.

6.3 Extension and Retraction

Extend the TV up to 16 inches from the wall or retract it to a low profile of 2.5 inches. Gently pull the TV forward to extend the arm, or push it back towards the wall to retract. The arm should move freely.

6.4 Cable Management

Utilize the integrated cable management clips or channels on the mount's arm to route and secure TV cables. This helps maintain a tidy appearance and prevents cables from being pinched during adjustments.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Periodic Checks: Regularly inspect all screws and bolts to ensure they remain tight. Over time, vibrations or adjustments can cause fasteners to loosen.
  • Lubrication: The articulating joints are designed for smooth operation. If movement becomes stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the pivot points.

8. Troubleshooting

  • TV is not level: Check the wall plate and TV brackets with a level. Adjust the wall plate if necessary, or use the fine-tuning leveling feature (if available on your specific model) on the TV brackets.
  • Mount feels loose: Re-check all mounting bolts and screws for tightness. Ensure the wall studs or anchors are secure. Do not use the mount if it feels unstable.
  • Difficulty adjusting TV: Ensure no cables are snagged. Check for any overtightened bolts on the articulating arm or tilt mechanism. Loosen slightly if needed, then re-tighten after adjustment.
  • Missing parts: Refer to the package contents list. If parts are missing, contact Brookstone customer service.
