3. Setup and First Use

• Unpacking: Carefully remove the toaster from its packaging. Remove all packaging materials, including any protective films or stickers.
• Placement: Place the toaster on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface with adequate ventilation around it. Ensure it is not too close to walls, curtains, or other heat-sensitive materials.
• Power Connection: Unwind the power cord and plug it into a grounded electrical outlet.
• Initial Use (Seasoning): Before toasting food for the first time, operate the toaster without bread for a few cycles at the highest browning setting (level 6). This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate initial odors. A slight smoke or odor is normal during this process. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.

4. Operating Instructions

Toasting Bread:

1. Insert up to four slices of bread into the toasting slots. The automatic centering mechanism will hold the bread in place for even browning.
2. Select your desired browning level using the Browning Control Dial (1 for light, 6 for dark).
3. Press down the High-Lift Lever until it locks into place. The toasting cycle will begin, and the LED display will show the remaining time.
4. Once the toasting cycle is complete, the toast will automatically pop up. Use the high-lift lever to safely retrieve smaller items.

Special Functions:

• Defrost Function: To toast frozen bread, insert the bread, select the desired browning level, and press the Defrost button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the toaster will automatically adjust the toasting time to defrost and toast the bread.
• Reheat Function: To reheat cold toast without further browning, insert the toast, and press the Reheat button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the toaster will gently warm the toast.
• Cancel Function: To stop the toasting cycle at any time, press the Cancel/Eject button. The toast will immediately pop up.

Using the Bun Warmer:

1. To use the bun warmer, gently push up the Bun Warmer Rack until it locks into position above the toasting slots.
2. Place buns, croissants, or pastries on the rack.
3. Set the browning control to a low setting (e.g., 1 or 2) and press down the High-Lift Lever.
4. Monitor the warming process closely to prevent burning. Press the Cancel/Eject button when desired warmth is achieved.
5. Once finished, push the bun warmer rack back down for storage.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your toaster.

• Always Unplug: Before cleaning, always unplug the toaster from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely.
• Crumb Tray: Pull out the removable crumb tray located at the bottom of the toaster. Discard crumbs and wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly before reinserting.
