1. Important Safety Instructions
Please read all instructions carefully before using the ZEEGMA TOSTEE CHEF toaster and retain them for future reference. Improper use can result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the voltage indicated on the appliance matches your local mains voltage before connecting. Do not immerse the toaster, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
- Placement: Always operate the toaster on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials like curtains or walls. Do not place near hot gas or electric burners, or in a heated oven.
- Operation: Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs. Bread may burn, therefore toasters must not be used near or below curtains and other combustible materials. Never leave the toaster unattended during operation.
- Food Items: Do not toast food items with runny fillings or glazes, as these can drip into the toaster and cause a fire or malfunction. Never insert metal objects into the toaster slots.
- Cleaning: Always unplug the toaster and allow it to cool completely before cleaning or performing maintenance. Regularly empty the crumb tray to prevent fire hazards.
- Children: This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. 3. Setup and First Use
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the toaster from its packaging. Remove all packaging materials, including any protective films or stickers.
- Placement: Place the toaster on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface with adequate ventilation around it. Ensure it is not too close to walls, curtains, or other heat-sensitive materials.
- Power Connection: Unwind the power cord and plug it into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Initial Use (Seasoning): Before toasting food for the first time, operate the toaster without bread for a few cycles at the highest browning setting (level 6). This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate initial odors. A slight smoke or odor is normal during this process. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
4. Operating Instructions
Toasting Bread:
- Insert up to four slices of bread into the toasting slots. The automatic centering mechanism will hold the bread in place for even browning.
- Select your desired browning level using the Browning Control Dial (1 for light, 6 for dark).
- Press down the High-Lift Lever until it locks into place. The toasting cycle will begin, and the LED display will show the remaining time.
- Once the toasting cycle is complete, the toast will automatically pop up. Use the high-lift lever to safely retrieve smaller items.

Special Functions:
- Defrost Function: To toast frozen bread, insert the bread, select the desired browning level, and press the Defrost button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the toaster will automatically adjust the toasting time to defrost and toast the bread.
- Reheat Function: To reheat cold toast without further browning, insert the toast, and press the Reheat button. The indicator light will illuminate, and the toaster will gently warm the toast.
- Cancel Function: To stop the toasting cycle at any time, press the Cancel/Eject button. The toast will immediately pop up.
Using the Bun Warmer:
- To use the bun warmer, gently push up the Bun Warmer Rack until it locks into position above the toasting slots.
- Place buns, croissants, or pastries on the rack.
- Set the browning control to a low setting (e.g., 1 or 2) and press down the High-Lift Lever.
- Monitor the warming process closely to prevent burning. Press the Cancel/Eject button when desired warmth is achieved.
- Once finished, push the bun warmer rack back down for storage.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your toaster.
- Always Unplug: Before cleaning, always unplug the toaster from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely.
- Crumb Tray: Pull out the removable crumb tray located at the bottom of the toaster. Discard crumbs and wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly before reinserting.

- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the toaster with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as these can scratch the stainless steel finish.
- Interior: Never attempt to clean the inside of the toaster slots with sharp objects. If bread gets stuck, unplug the toaster, allow it to cool, and carefully remove the bread.
- Storage: When not in use, store the toaster in a clean, dry place.
6. Troubleshooting
- Toaster does not turn on:
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Check your household fuse or circuit breaker.
- Bread is not toasting evenly:
- Ensure the bread slices are centered in the slots. The toaster has an automatic centering feature, but very thin or thick slices might require adjustment.
- Different types of bread toast differently. Adjust the browning level accordingly.
- Smoke is coming from the toaster:
- Immediately press the Cancel/Eject button and unplug the toaster.
- Check for any stuck bread pieces or excessive crumbs in the crumb tray. Clean the crumb tray thoroughly.
- Ensure no foreign objects are in the toasting slots.
- Toast is stuck in the toaster:
- Unplug the toaster and allow it to cool. Carefully remove the bread using non-metallic tongs. Never use metal utensils.
