3. Operating Instructions

Once all components are installed and connected, you can power on your system.

3.1 First Boot

  1. Ensure all power cables are securely connected and the monitor is plugged in.
  2. Press the power button on your PC case.
  3. The system should power on, and you should see a display on your monitor.
  4. If no display appears, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

3.2 BIOS/UEFI Setup

The BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) or UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) is firmware that initializes hardware during the booting process and provides runtime services for operating systems. To enter the BIOS/UEFI setup utility:

  • During the initial boot sequence, repeatedly press the DEL key (or F2, F10, depending on the specific BIOS version) to enter the setup utility.
  • Within the BIOS/UEFI, you can configure various system settings, including boot order, date/time, CPU settings, memory timings, and peripheral options.
  • Save any changes before exiting the BIOS/UEFI.

3.3 Operating System Installation

After configuring the BIOS/UEFI, you can proceed with installing your preferred operating system (e.g., Windows, Linux) from a bootable USB drive or DVD. Ensure the boot order in BIOS is set to prioritize your installation media.

4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and stable performance of your motherboard.

  • Dust Removal: Regularly clean dust from the motherboard and components using compressed air. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
  • BIOS Updates: Periodically check the Yoidesu support website for BIOS updates. BIOS updates can improve system stability, compatibility, and performance. Follow the update instructions carefully to avoid damaging the motherboard.
  • Component Checks: Ensure all cables and components are securely seated. Loose connections can lead to system instability.
  • Environmental Control: Operate the motherboard in a well-ventilated area with stable temperature and humidity to prevent overheating and component degradation.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your motherboard.

5.1 No Power / System Does Not Turn On

  • Check if the power supply unit (PSU) is properly connected to the motherboard (24-pin and 4-pin connectors).
  • Ensure the PSU is switched on and the power cable is securely plugged into both the PSU and the wall outlet.
  • Verify that the front panel power button cable is correctly connected to the motherboard's front panel header.
  • Test the PSU with another system or use a PSU tester if available.

5.2 No Display on Monitor

  • Ensure the monitor is powered on and the video cable (VGA or HDMI) is securely connected to both the monitor and the motherboard's I/O panel (or discrete graphics card).
  • If using a discrete graphics card, ensure it is properly seated in the PCIe slot and any necessary auxiliary power cables are connected.
  • Reseat the memory modules. Incorrectly seated RAM is a common cause of no display.
  • Try booting with only one memory module installed.
  • Clear the CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) by removing the small coin-cell battery (CR2032) from the motherboard for a few minutes, then reinserting it. Ensure the system is unplugged before doing this.

5.3 System Instability / Random Crashes

  • Check for overheating. Ensure CPU cooler is properly installed and fans are spinning. Monitor temperatures using software.
  • Run memory diagnostic tools to check for faulty RAM modules.
  • Ensure all drivers (chipset, graphics, etc.) are up to date.
  • Verify that the power supply is sufficient for all installed components.
