4. Setup & Installation
Follow these steps for proper installation of your ZAFRO Portable Air Conditioner.
4.1. Window Panel Assembly
Measure your window opening to select the appropriate window panels. The manual provides a guide for various window sizes and corresponding panel combinations (A, B, C, D, E).

Image Description: This image displays a diagram for selecting the correct window panels based on window dimensions for both horizontal and vertical sliding windows. A table indicates which panels (A, B, C, D, E) are needed for various window widths, ranging from 17.72 inches to 70.87 inches.
For example, if your window size is between 27.95" and 33.07", you would typically use panels A, D, and E. Find the butterfly bolts and open them. Connect panel A to panel D using a butterfly bolt, ensuring the air outlet is not covered. Then, connect panel E to panel D using another butterfly bolt.

Image Description: This image illustrates Step 1 of the installation, showing how to measure the window (marked as 'A') and a table to select the correct window panels based on the measured length. It highlights the selection for a window size between 27.95" and 33.07".

Image Description: This image shows Step 2, assembling the window panels by pre-installing a metal clip and inserting it into the path of another panel. Step 3 demonstrates cutting adhesive sealing foam to the window's dimension and placing it.

Image Description: This image illustrates Step 4, placing the assembled window panels onto the window. Step 5 shows adjusting the window panels to fit the window opening and fastening them with butterfly bolts.
4.2. Sealing Foam Application
Cut the non-adhesive sealing foam to the size of the window and place it at the bottom of the window. For other gaps in the window, use adhesive sealing foam as needed to improve the sealing of the room. Cut sealant foam according to the size of the window panel and place it on the sides and top of the window.
4.3. Hose Attachment
Align and install the air exhaust hose assembly into the window panel. Press the latch to lock the air exhaust hose into the hole in the window panel. Attach the other end of the air exhaust hose onto the portable air conditioner. Align the exhaust hose with the mounting port and install it on the window panel, then clamp the connection tightly.

Image Description: This image shows Step 6, closing the window and filling any remaining gaps with non-adhesive sealing foam. Step 7 illustrates aligning and installing the air exhaust hose assembly into the window panel, with a note to press the latch to lock it.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your portable air conditioner.
6.1. Filter Cleaning
To keep the unit running efficiently, clean the filter once a month. Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove the filter. Use a slightly damp cloth to wipe it down, then dry it with a clean cloth before reinserting.
6.2. Draining
The unit features drainage-free cooling for up to 72 hours, eliminating the need for frequent drainage. However, for high humidity environments or dry mode, connecting a drain pipe is recommended.

Image Description: This image illustrates the 72-hour drainage-free cooling process, showing how the evaporator generates water droplets, the drip tray collects condensate, water evaporates via the condenser, and residual droplets are thrown into the condenser for secondary evaporation. It notes that connecting drainpipes is recommended in high humidity or dry mode.
Manual Draining: Remove the bottom drain plug and tilt the unit slightly backward to drain completely. Ensure a container is ready for any spilled water.
Continuous Draining: For continuous draining and dehumidifying mode, unplug the unit, remove the middle drain plug, and connect the drain hose. Direct the hose to a floor drain or a container. Plug the unit back in and turn it on.
6.3. Cleaning and Maintenance Video
Video Description: This video demonstrates the cleaning and maintenance procedures for the ZAFRO Portable Air Conditioner, including how to clean the filter and perform both manual and continuous draining.
7. Storage
Before storing the unit, ensure it is completely drained and clean. Wrap the power cord neatly and cover the unit to protect it from dust and moisture. Store it in a cool, dry place.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your ZAFRO Portable Air Conditioner, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Unit does not turn on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a grounded outlet. Ensure the unit is not in standby mode.
- No cooling: Verify that the air filter is clean and not obstructed. Ensure the exhaust hoses are properly installed and sealed. Check if the room temperature is within the operating range.
- Weak airflow: Clean the air filter. Check for any obstructions in the air inlets or outlets.
- Unusual noise: Ensure the unit is placed on a flat, stable surface. Check for any loose parts or foreign objects.
- Water leakage: Ensure the drain plug is securely closed (for non-continuous drainage). If using continuous drainage, check the drain hose for kinks or blockages.
