Model: Portable Inverter Generator | Brand: HUSHLIGHT

1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your HUSHLIGHT 2500W Portable Inverter Generator. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the generator to ensure proper use and to prevent injury or damage.

2. Safety Information

WARNING: Carbon Monoxide Hazard. Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES. Generator exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a colorless and odorless gas. NEVER use in an enclosed area or partially enclosed area. Always use OUTDOORS and far away from windows, doors, and vents.

  • Ventilation: Always operate the generator in a well-ventilated outdoor area.
  • Fuel Safety: Gasoline is highly flammable. Store fuel in an approved container in a well-ventilated area away from ignition sources. Do not refuel while the engine is running or hot.
  • Electrical Safety: Do not operate the generator in wet conditions. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and properly grounded.
  • CO Sensor: The built-in CO sensor will shut off the engine if carbon monoxide levels rise to unsafe levels. If this occurs, move the generator to an area with fresh air and investigate the cause.
  • Low Oil Shutoff: The generator is equipped with a low oil shutoff feature to protect the engine from damage. If the oil level is too low, the engine will not start or will shut down.
  • Overload Protection: The generator will automatically shut down if an overload is detected to prevent damage to the unit and connected devices.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the generator during operation.

4. Setup and First Use

Before starting your generator for the first time, follow these steps carefully:

  1. Add Engine Oil:
    • Place the generator on a level surface.
    • Remove the oil fill cap/dipstick.
    • Using the provided oil funnel, add approximately 32 oz (0.95 liters) of 4-stroke engine oil (SAE 10W-30 is recommended). Do not overfill.
    • Check the oil level using the dipstick. The oil should reach the upper mark on the dipstick when fully inserted (not screwed in).
    • Securely replace the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  2. Add Fuel:
    • Ensure the generator is turned off and cool.
    • Unscrew the fuel cap.
    • Carefully pour fresh, unleaded gasoline into the fuel tank. Do not overfill. Leave some space for fuel expansion.
    • Securely replace the fuel cap. Turn the gas cap switch to the "ON" position if applicable.
  3. Initial Start Procedure:
    • Ensure the generator is on a level surface outdoors, away from any obstructions.
    • Press the engine switch to the "ON" position.
    • Pull the choke knob out to the "CHOKE" position.
    • Firmly pull the recoil starter handle until the engine starts.
    • Once the engine starts, gradually push the choke knob into the "RUN" position.
