Setup

Follow these steps to set up your moving head lights:

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage during transit.
  2. Mounting: The lights can be placed on a flat surface or mounted using the included brackets. Ensure the mounting surface is stable and can support the weight of the fixture. The unit supports ceiling mount.

  3. Power Connection: Connect the provided power cable to the unit's power input and then to a suitable power outlet (110 Volts).
  4. DMX Connection (Optional): For DMX control, connect a DMX cable from your DMX controller to the DMX IN port of the first light. For multiple lights, daisy-chain them by connecting the DMX OUT of the first light to the DMX IN of the next.

Operating Modes

The ZKYMZL Moving Head DJ Lights offer four flexible control modes:

  • Automatic Operation: The lights will cycle through pre-programmed sequences automatically. This mode is ideal for quick setup without external control.
  • Sound Activation: The built-in microphone detects sound, and the lights react to the rhythm of the music. Adjust sensitivity via the control panel.
  • Master-Slave Configuration: Connect multiple units via DMX cables. Set one unit as the 'Master' and others as 'Slaves'. The slave units will mirror the master's movements and effects. This allows for synchronized lighting without a DMX controller.
  • DMX512 Control: For professional control, connect the lights to a DMX512 controller. This allows for precise manipulation of pan, tilt, colors, gobos, and other parameters.

Use the control panel buttons (MENU, DOWN, UP, ENTER) to navigate and select operating modes and settings. The digital display will show the current mode or DMX address.

DMX512 Control

The lights support 9/11-channel DMX functionality, allowing for comprehensive control over various parameters. Refer to your DMX controller's manual for specific programming instructions.

  • Setting DMX Address: Power on the unit. Use the MENU button to navigate to the DMX address setting (usually indicated by 'A' followed by a number). Use UP/DOWN to set the desired address and ENTER to confirm.
  • Channel Functions:

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your lights:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the exterior. For lenses, use a specialized lens cleaner and cloth to avoid scratches. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
  • Ventilation: Periodically check that the ventilation openings are clear of dust and debris to ensure proper heat dissipation.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the lights in a cool, dry place, preferably in their original packaging or a protective case.
