2. Safety Information

Please observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the product.

  • Professional Installation Recommended: Due to the complexity of integrating multiple components and the thermostatic valve, professional plumbing installation is strongly recommended.
  • Water Pressure: Ensure your home's water pressure is within acceptable limits for optimal performance and to prevent damage. Consult a plumber if unsure.
  • Temperature Control: The thermostatic valve is factory-set to 38°C (100°F) for safety. Do not attempt to bypass this safety feature without understanding the risks of scalding.
  • Hot Water Supply: Ensure your hot water supply system can adequately support the flow rate of multiple shower functions operating simultaneously.
  • Material Compatibility: Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the brushed gold finish, as this may cause damage.

3. Package Contents

Verify that all components are present and undamaged before beginning installation.

4.1 Pre-Installation Considerations

  • Wall Depth: Recommended in-wall depth for the valve is 3.5 inches (Min 3-3/8" - Max 3-3/4").
  • Water Connections: Inlet connections are 3/4" NPT, and outlet connections are 1/2" NPT.

4.2 Thermostatic Valve Installation

The thermostatic valve is the core of the system, controlling water temperature and flow to all outlets.

  1. Turn off the main water supply before starting any plumbing work.
  2. Install the valve body securely within the wall, ensuring it is level and at the correct depth as indicated in the dimension diagram (Figure 4.1).
  3. Connect the hot and cold water supply lines to the designated inlets on the valve body (typically marked H for Hot and C for Cold).
  4. Connect the outlet lines from the valve to the respective shower components: 16-inch rainfall head, 6-inch wall-mounted head, 6 body jets, and handheld shower.
  5. Once all connections are made and tested for leaks, install the trim plate and control handles.

4.3 Shower Head and Body Jet Installation

  • Rainfall Shower Head: Securely mount the 16-inch rainfall shower head to the ceiling connection point. Ensure the connection is watertight. This head features 360° rotation for angle adjustment.
  • Wall-Mounted Shower Head: Attach the 6-inch shower head to its wall-mounted arm. This head also offers 360° rotation.
  • Body Jets: Install the 6 body jets at desired heights and positions on the wall, connecting them to their dedicated water lines from the valve.
  • Handheld Shower: Mount the handheld shower holder at a convenient height and connect the 59-inch stainless steel hose to the handheld unit and the wall outlet.

5. Operating Instructions

Your Dasan shower system offers precise control over water temperature and multiple spray functions.

5.1 Thermostatic Temperature Control

  • The bottom knob on the valve controls the water temperature. It is factory-set to a safe 38°C (100°F).
  • To adjust the temperature, press the safety button on the knob and rotate it to your desired setting. Rotate clockwise for cooler water and counter-clockwise for warmer water.
  • The thermostatic valve maintains a consistent water temperature, preventing sudden changes and ensuring comfort and safety.

5.2 4-Function Diverter Control

The four upper knobs on the valve control the individual shower functions. Each knob can be turned ON or OFF independently.

  • Knob 1 (Top): Controls the 16-inch Rainfall Shower Head.
  • Knob 2: Controls the 6-inch Wall-Mounted Shower Head.
  • Knob 3: Controls the 6 Body Jets.
  • Knob 4 (Bottom): Controls the Handheld Shower.

You can use any single function, or activate multiple functions simultaneously for a customized showering experience.

5.3 Air Injection Technology

The rainfall shower head incorporates air injection technology, which mixes air with water to create a softer, more voluminous spray. This enhances the showering experience by providing a gentle yet thorough rinse without the stinging sensation of straight water jets.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Dasan shower system.

  • Cleaning the Finish: The electroplated surface and glazed finish are designed to resist fingerprints and water stains. Clean regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
  • Cleaning Nozzles: The silicone nozzles on the shower heads and body jets are designed for easy cleaning. If mineral deposits accumulate, gently rub the nozzles with your finger or a soft brush to dislodge them.
  • Thermostatic Cartridge: In areas with hard water, the thermostatic cartridge may require periodic cleaning or replacement. Consult a qualified plumber for this service.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your shower system, refer to the following common problems and solutions.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
