1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read this instruction manual carefully before using your Kärcher FCV 3 cordless floor cleaner. Keep these instructions for future reference. Failure to follow these safety guidelines may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Do not immerse the appliance, battery, or charging station in water or other liquids.
  • Keep the appliance away from children and pets.
  • Use only Kärcher approved accessories and cleaning solutions.
  • Do not use the appliance to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, or hot ashes.
  • Ensure the charging station is placed on a stable, level surface.
  • Always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the power supply before cleaning or performing maintenance.

Carefully unpack your Kärcher FCV 3 and check that all items are present and undamaged. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your retailer.

3. Setup

3.1 Assembly

  1. Insert the handle into the main unit until it clicks into place.
  2. Ensure the clean water tank and dirty water tank are correctly seated.

3.2 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the appliance. Place the FCV 3 on the charging station. The LED display will indicate the charging status. A full charge takes approximately 180 minutes.

3.3 Filling the Clean Water Tank

  1. Remove the clean water tank from the appliance.
  2. Open the tank cap and fill with fresh tap water up to the MAX line.
  3. Add the recommended amount of Kärcher floor cleaner (e.g., the provided universal cleaner) to the water. Do not overfill.
  4. Close the tank cap securely and reinsert the tank into the appliance.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

Press the ON/OFF button on the handle to start or stop the appliance.

4.2 Selecting Cleaning Modes

The FCV 3 offers three cleaning modes, selectable via the LED display on the handle:

  • Standard Mode: For regular wet cleaning of hard floors with water distribution.
  • Advanced!Power Mode: Provides increased suction and roller speed for stubborn dirt and pet hair on hard floors.
  • Dry Mode: For vacuuming short-pile carpets or picking up liquid spills without water distribution.

4.3 Cleaning Hard Floors

Select Standard or Advanced!Power mode. Guide the appliance slowly over the floor. The microfiber roller will wet, scrub, and then vacuum the dirty water, leaving floors clean and nearly dry.

4.4 Cleaning Short-Pile Carpets and Liquid Spills

Switch to Dry mode. The appliance will vacuum dry dirt from short-pile carpets or effectively pick up spilled liquids without dispensing water.

4.5 Maneuvering

The flexible joint allows the FCV 3 to easily maneuver under low furniture. The ergonomic handle provides comfortable operation.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your Kärcher FCV 3.

5.1 Automatic Self-Cleaning (System!Clean)

After each use, place the FCV 3 on the charging and cleaning station. Activate the System!Clean mode. The appliance will automatically clean the water-conducting parts and the microfiber roller, preventing contact with dirt.

5.2 Emptying and Cleaning the Dirty Water Tank

The dirty water tank has a capacity of 425 ml. Empty and rinse it after each use to prevent odors and bacterial growth.

  1. Remove the dirty water tank from the appliance.
  2. Open the cap and pour out the dirty water.
  3. Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water.
  4. Allow the tank to air dry before reinserting.

5.3 Cleaning the Microfiber Roller

The Hygienic!Spin technology helps keep the roller clean during operation. For deeper cleaning:

  1. Remove the roller cover and then the microfiber roller from the cleaning head.
  2. Rinse the roller under running water. It can also be machine washed at up to 60°C.
  3. Allow the roller to air dry completely before reattaching.

5.4 Cleaning/Replacing Filters (Duo!Pure System)

The Duo!Pure two-level filtration system includes a flat pleated filter and a foam filter. Regularly check and clean these filters.

  1. Remove the dirty water tank to access the filters.
  2. Carefully remove the flat pleated filter and foam filter.
  3. Tap out loose dirt and rinse the filters under running water.
  4. Allow filters to dry completely before reinserting. Replace filters if they are damaged or heavily soiled.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Kärcher FCV 3, refer to the table below for common problems and solutions.
