3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the keyboard. Connect the supplied USB Type-C cable to the keyboard's port and the other end to a powered USB port on your computer or a USB wall adapter. The keyboard features an 8000mAh battery, providing extended usage times.

3.2 Connectivity Modes

The TH108 keyboard supports three connectivity modes: Wired (USB-C), 2.4GHz Wireless, and Bluetooth. A switch located on the back of the keyboard allows selection between Windows and Mac operating system layouts.

3.2.1 Wired Mode (USB-C)

1. Connect the USB Type-C cable to the keyboard and your computer.
2. Ensure the mode switch on the keyboard is set to "USB".
3. The keyboard will be recognized automatically by your operating system.

3.2.2 2.4GHz Wireless Mode

1. Locate the 2.4GHz USB receiver, typically stored in a dedicated slot on the keyboard's underside.

1. Set the keyboard's mode switch to "BT".
2. To enter pairing mode for a specific slot, press and hold Fn + Q, Fn + W, or Fn + E for 3-5 seconds. The indicator light will flash rapidly.
3. On your device (PC, laptop, tablet, phone), search for Bluetooth devices and select "EPOMAKER TH108".
4. Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing. To switch between paired Bluetooth devices, press Fn + Q/W/E briefly.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Function Key Combinations (Fn Layer)

The TH108 keyboard utilizes an Fn (Function) key to access secondary functions printed on the keycaps. Refer to the keycap legends for specific combinations.

• Fn + F1-F12: Multimedia and system controls (e.g., volume, media playback, brightness).
• Fn + R: 2.4GHz pairing (as described in Setup).
• Fn + Q/W/E: Bluetooth device switching/pairing (as described in Setup).
• Fn + Backspace: Delete (on some layouts).

4.4 Hot-Swappable Switches

The TH108 features a hot-swappable PCB, allowing users to change mechanical switches without soldering. This enables customization of typing feel and sound.

1. Use the provided keycap puller to carefully remove the desired keycap.
2. Use a switch puller (not included, but often comes with replacement switches) to gently pull the switch straight up from the PCB.
3. Align the pins of the new 3-pin or 5-pin mechanical switch with the holes on the PCB.
4. Press the new switch firmly into place until it clicks. Ensure it is seated correctly and functions.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

• Disconnect the keyboard from all power sources before cleaning.
• Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe the keycaps and keyboard surface.
• For dust and debris between keycaps, use compressed air or a small brush.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents, as these can damage the keyboard's finish or keycap legends.

5.2 Switch Care

If you frequently hot-swap switches, ensure the switch pins are straight before insertion to prevent bending. Avoid excessive force when inserting or removing switches.

6. Troubleshooting

• Keyboard not responding in Wired Mode:
  • Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
  • Verify the mode switch on the keyboard is set to "USB".
  • Try a different USB port on your computer or a different USB-C cable.
• 2.4GHz Wireless connection issues:
  • Ensure the 2.4GHz receiver is plugged into a working USB port.
  • Confirm the keyboard mode switch is set to "2.4G".
  • Press Fn + R to re-pair the keyboard with the receiver.
  • Move the keyboard closer to the receiver to reduce interference.
• Bluetooth pairing failure:
  • Ensure the keyboard mode switch is set to "BT".
  • Press and hold Fn + Q/W/E for 3-5 seconds to enter pairing mode for the desired slot.
  • Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and it is discoverable.
  • Remove any previous pairings of the keyboard from your device's Bluetooth settings and try again.
• RGB backlight not working or incorrect:
  • Check backlight brightness with Fn + PgUp.
  • Cycle through modes with Fn + Ins.
  • If using the software, ensure settings are applied correctly.
• Specific keys not responding after hot-swapping:
  • Remove the keycap and switch. Inspect the switch pins to ensure they are not bent. Straighten them carefully if necessary.
  • Reinsert the switch firmly, ensuring both pins align with the PCB sockets.
  • Test with a known working switch in the same socket to rule out a PCB issue.
