5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your G51 LCD Display.

  • Cleaning: Wipe the display screen and casing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive water, as these can damage the screen or internal components.
  • Environmental Protection: While the display is designed for outdoor use, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or heavy rain. If riding in wet conditions, ensure the display is securely mounted and connections are tight.
  • Connection Check: Periodically inspect the 5-pin connector and cable for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Ensure the connection remains secure to prevent intermittent functionality.
  • Storage: If storing your electric bike for an extended period, ensure the display is clean and dry. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your G51 LCD Display, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Display Not Turning On:
    • Check if the electric bike's main power is on.
    • Verify that the 5-pin connector is securely plugged into the controller.
    • Inspect the wiring for any visible damage or loose connections, especially the red (power positive) and black (power negative) wires.
    • Ensure the ignition lock wire (blue) is correctly connected and engaged, if applicable to your system.
  • Incorrect Speed/Odometer Readings:
    • This display relies on signals from your bike's controller. Ensure the speed sensor on your bike is clean and properly aligned.
    • Check the green (RX) and yellow (TX) communication wires for secure connections.
    • If the issue persists, it may indicate a problem with the bike's speed sensor or controller, not the display itself.
  • Buttons Not Responding:
    • Ensure the display is powered on.
    • Check for any physical obstructions or debris around the buttons.
    • If the display is wet, allow it to dry completely.
