3. Component Identification

Typically, digital watches have four buttons:

  • A (Adjust/Light): Used to select settings or activate the backlight.
  • B (Mode): Cycles through different modes (Time, Alarm, Stopwatch, World Time, Countdown).
  • C (Start/Stop/Reset): Used to start/stop functions or increment values during setting.

4. Setup and Basic Operation

4.1 Initial Setup

Upon first use, remove any protective films from the watch face and back. The watch may already be running. If the display is blank, the battery might be low or in power-saving mode. Press any button to activate.

4.2 Setting Time and Date

  1. In Timekeeping Mode, press and hold the A (Adjust) button until the seconds begin to flash, indicating setting mode.
  2. Press the B (Mode) button to cycle through the settings: Seconds → Hour → Minute → Year → Month → Day → 12/24 Hour Format → DST (Daylight Saving Time).
  3. Use the C (Start/Stop) or D (Lap/Reset) buttons to adjust the flashing value.
  4. Once all settings are correct, press the A (Adjust) button again to exit setting mode.

4.3 12/24 Hour Format

During time setting, you can select either 12-hour (with P for PM) or 24-hour format. Cycle to the 12/24 hour setting and use the C (Start/Stop) button to toggle between formats.

4.4 Daylight Saving Time (DST)

During time setting, cycle to the DST setting. Use the C (Start/Stop) button to toggle DST ON or OFF. When ON, the time will advance by one hour.

5. Operating Modes

Press the B (Mode) button to cycle through the different operating modes:

Timekeeping Mode → Stopwatch Mode → Alarm Mode → World Time Mode → Countdown Mode → Timekeeping Mode

5.1 Stopwatch Mode

  1. From Timekeeping Mode, press B (Mode) until "STW" or "STOP" appears on the display.
  2. Press C (Start/Stop) to start the stopwatch.
  3. Press C (Start/Stop) again to pause.
  4. Press C (Start/Stop) to resume, or D (Lap/Reset) to reset to zero while paused.
  5. To record lap times, press D (Lap/Reset) while the stopwatch is running. The lap time will display briefly, then the stopwatch will continue running.

5.2 Alarm Mode

The watch supports up to 5 alarms. To set an alarm:

  1. From Timekeeping Mode, press B (Mode) until "ALM" or "ALARM" appears.
  2. Press C (Start/Stop) to select the alarm number (AL1, AL2, etc.).
  3. Press and hold A (Adjust) until the alarm hour flashes.
  4. Use C (Start/Stop) or D (Lap/Reset) to adjust the hour.
  5. Press B (Mode) to move to the minute setting, then adjust with C (Start/Stop) or D (Lap/Reset).
  6. Press A (Adjust) to confirm and exit.
  7. To turn an alarm ON/OFF, in Alarm Mode, select the alarm and press D (Lap/Reset). An alarm icon will appear when active.
  8. To activate the hourly chime (SIG), in Alarm Mode, press D (Lap/Reset) until "SIG" appears.

5.3 World Time Mode

This mode allows you to view the current time in various major cities around the world.

  1. From Timekeeping Mode, press B (Mode) until "WT" or "WORLD TIME" appears.
  2. Use C (Start/Stop) or D (Lap/Reset) to scroll through the available city codes/time zones.
  3. The display will show the current time for the selected city.

5.4 Countdown Timer Mode

Set a timer to count down from a specified time.

  1. From Timekeeping Mode, press B (Mode) until "TMR" or "COUNTDOWN" appears.
  2. Press and hold A (Adjust) until the hour flashes.
  3. Use C (Start/Stop) or D (Lap/Reset) to set the desired hour, then press B (Mode) to move to minutes, and then seconds.
  4. Press A (Adjust) to confirm the countdown time.
  5. Press C (Start/Stop) to start the countdown.
  6. Press C (Start/Stop) again to pause, and D (Lap/Reset) to reset to the initial countdown time.

5.5 LED Backlight

To illuminate the display in low-light conditions, press the A (Adjust) button (or the dedicated Light button if present). The light will typically stay on for a few seconds.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch case and strap regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Water Resistance: The watch is 50M water resistant. This means it is suitable for swimming, showering, and general water exposure. However, avoid operating buttons underwater to prevent water ingress. Do not expose to hot water or steam, as this can compromise seals.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) for prolonged periods, as this can affect battery life and accuracy.
  • Battery Replacement: The watch uses a CR2016 battery. When the display becomes dim or functions are erratic, it may be time for a battery replacement. It is recommended to have the battery replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure the water resistance seal is properly maintained.

7. Troubleshooting
