Setup Guide

Charging the Headset

Microphone Attachment

The detachable microphone can be inserted into the dedicated microphone port on the left earcup. Ensure it is securely connected. To remove, gently pull it out.

Adjusting the Headset

Operating Instructions

Connection Modes

The Gtheos Captain 800 headset offers multiple connection options:

  • 2.4GHz Wireless Mode: For PS4/PS5, Laptops, Desktops, MAC, and Switch (microphone not supported on Switch due to console limitations).
  • Type-C Wireless Mode: For mobile phones, tablets, and Switch with Type-C interface (microphone not supported).
  • Bluetooth 5.3 Mode: For phones, tablets, and laptops.
  • 3.5mm Wired Mode: For PS4/PS5, Switch, and PC.

2.4GHz Wireless Connection (USB Dongle)

  1. Plug the 2-in-1 USB dongle into your device (PS5, PC, etc.). The dongle's indicator light will flash red and blue.
  2. Switch on the headset and ensure it is in "2.4G" mode.
  3. Wait for the headset's indicator light to turn white and the USB transmitter's indicator to show blue, indicating a successful connection.

Note for Switch users:

  • The microphone is not supported on the Switch due to console limitations.
  • The USB dongle cannot be used separately from the Type-C dongle.

Bluetooth Connection

  1. Switch on the headset and set it to "BT" (Bluetooth) mode. The headset indicator will blink blue.
  2. On your device (phone, tablet, laptop, Switch), go to Bluetooth settings and search for "Captain 800".
  3. Select "Captain 800" to connect. The headset indicator will show a solid blue light upon successful connection.

3.5mm Wired Connection

Note:

  • When using a wired connection, the microphone mute button on the headset is not available. The microphone can be turned on or off via the connected device's settings (e.g., PS5 or Xbox controller).
  • The microphone does not work on the Switch in wired mode due to console limitations.

Microphone Not Working

  • Ensure the microphone is securely attached to the headset.
  • Check if the microphone mute button on the headset is off (unmuted).
  • Verify microphone settings on your device (e.g., PC sound settings, PS5 microphone input).
  • Important: The microphone is not supported on Nintendo Switch in any mode.
  • Important: In wired mode, the headset's microphone mute button is inactive; control microphone mute via your device.

Connection Issues

  • 2.4GHz: Ensure the USB dongle is properly inserted and its indicator is blue. If not, try re-pairing by cycling the headset power.
  • Bluetooth: Ensure the headset is in BT mode and blinking blue for pairing. Forget the device on your host device and re-pair if issues persist.
