This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of your Insta360 X3 camera. Please read it thoroughly before operating the device. The Insta360 X3 is a versatile 360-degree action camera designed for capturing immersive video and photos in various environments, including underwater.

Setup

1. Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the Insta360 X3 battery. Connect the camera to a USB power adapter (not included) using the provided USB-C charging cable. The indicator light will show charging status.

2. Inserting the MicroSD Card

The Insta360 X3 requires a MicroSD card (not included) for storage. Ensure the card is a UHS-I V30 speed class or above, with a maximum capacity of 1TB. Open the battery compartment, locate the MicroSD card slot, and insert the card with the contacts facing the front of the camera until it clicks into place.

3. Powering On/Off

To power on, press the Power Button (located on the side) for 1-2 seconds. To power off, press and hold the Power Button for 2-3 seconds until the screen turns off.

4. Initial Setup and App Connection

For optimal functionality and access to advanced features, connect your Insta360 X3 to the Insta360 mobile app. Download the app from your device's app store. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app to activate your camera and perform initial setup, including firmware updates.

Operating Modes

1. 360 Capture & Reframing

The X3 captures stunning 5.7K 360 Active HDR video, allowing you to capture everything around you. After recording, use the Insta360 app's reframing tools to choose your favorite angles and create traditional flat videos from your 360 footage.

2. Single-Lens Mode

Switch to Single-Lens Mode to shoot wide-angle footage similar to a traditional action camera. This mode offers maximum resolution at 4K30fps or an extremely wide 170° field of view with 2.7K MaxView.

3. Me Mode (60fps)

5. Bullet Time (4K120fps)

Achieve cinematic slow-motion effects with Bullet Time. The X3 supports 4K120fps or 3K180fps slow-motion, creating dynamic shots that appear to orbit the subject.

6. Rugged and Waterproof

Maintenance

1. Cleaning Lenses

Always use the provided lens cloth or a specialized lens cleaning pen to clean the camera lenses. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could scratch or damage the lens coating.

2. Battery Care

Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid exposing the battery to extreme temperatures. If the camera will not be used for an extended period, charge the battery to approximately 50% before storage.

3. Water Care

After using the camera in saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and allow it to air dry completely before opening any ports or compartments.

4. Firmware Updates

Regularly check for and install firmware updates via the Insta360 app. Firmware updates often include performance improvements, bug fixes, and new features.

Troubleshooting

Camera Not Responding

If the camera becomes unresponsive, try a force restart by holding the Power Button for 7-10 seconds.

Overheating

In high-temperature environments or during prolonged recording of high-resolution video, the camera may become warm. If the camera overheats, it may automatically shut down to prevent damage. Allow it to cool down before resuming use. Consider using the camera in a well-ventilated area or a cooler environment.

Connectivity Issues

If you experience issues connecting to the Insta360 app, ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your mobile device and that the camera is within range. Try restarting both the camera and your mobile device.

Poor Image/Video Quality

Ensure your MicroSD card meets the recommended specifications (UHS-I V30 or above). Clean the lenses regularly. Check your shooting settings in the app to ensure they are appropriate for your environment and desired output.
