4.1 Front Panel

5. Setup

5.1 Rack Installation

  1. Attach the included mounting ears to the sides of the Firebox M4600 using the provided screws.
  2. Secure the appliance into a standard 19-inch equipment rack using appropriate rack screws. Ensure the rack is stable and properly grounded.
  3. Allow sufficient space around the unit for proper ventilation, especially at the front and rear panels.

5.2 Connecting Network Cables

  1. Connect your internet service provider's cable to the designated external network port (typically port 0 or 1, refer to your network configuration).
  2. Connect your internal network switch or devices to the remaining network ports (ports 1-7 or as configured). The device supports Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000Base-T).

5.3 Power Connection

  1. Connect the power cord to the power input on the rear panel of the Firebox M4600.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  3. The device will power on automatically. Observe the status LEDs on the front panel.

6.1 Initial Power On

Once connected to power, the Firebox M4600 will initiate its boot sequence. The status LEDs will indicate the boot progress. Refer to the WatchGuard documentation for detailed LED status interpretations.

6.2 Configuration and Licensing
