Before using the pole saw, fill the oil reservoir with appropriate bar and chain oil. The transparent reservoir allows you to monitor the oil level. Do not operate the pole saw without sufficient oil.

6. Operating Instructions

Always ensure the work area is clear and you are wearing appropriate PPE.

6.1. General Operation

  1. Insert the charged battery into the tool handle.
  2. To start, press the safety lock button and then squeeze the trigger switch. Release the safety lock button once the tool is running.
  3. To stop, release the trigger switch.

6.2. Using the Pole Saw

  • Cutting Technique: Position the saw on the branch and allow the chain to reach full speed before applying gentle pressure. Let the saw do the work.
  • Branch Size: The pole saw is designed for branches up to 8 inches in diameter. Do not attempt to cut larger branches.
  • Angle Adjustment: Use the angle adjustment button to select one of the 3 cutting positions (0°, 15°, 30°) for optimal cutting angle.
  • Auto Oiling: The saw will automatically lubricate the chain during operation. Periodically check the oil level in the transparent reservoir.

6.3. Using the Hedge Trimmer

  • Trimming Technique: Use a sweeping motion, moving the trimmer along the hedge or shrub. Avoid forcing the blades through thick material.
  • Branch Size: The hedge trimmer can cut branches up to 3/5 inch (16mm) thick.
  • Angle Adjustment: The hedge trimmer head can be adjusted 135° to achieve various trimming angles for shaping and reaching different parts of the foliage.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your tool. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance.

7.1. Cleaning

  • After each use, clean the blades of the hedge trimmer and the bar and chain of the pole saw.
  • Remove any sap, debris, or plant material using a stiff brush or cloth.
  • Wipe down the tool body with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.

7.2. Blade and Chain Care

  • Hedge Trimmer Blades: Periodically apply a light machine oil to the hedge trimmer blades to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation. If blades become dull, they may need professional sharpening or replacement.
  • Pole Saw Chain: Ensure the chain is always sharp. A dull chain can cause kickback and reduce cutting efficiency. Sharpen or replace the chain as needed. Regularly check chain tension and adjust if necessary.

7.3. Lubrication

  • Pole Saw: Keep the oil reservoir filled with quality bar and chain oil. The auto-oiling system will handle lubrication during operation.
  • Hedge Trimmer: Apply a few drops of light machine oil to the hedge trimmer blades before and after each use.

7.4. Battery Care and Storage

  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Do not store batteries in a discharged state for extended periods. Charge them periodically if not in use.
  • Always remove the battery from the tool before storage.

7.5. Storage

Store the tool in a dry, secure location out of reach of children. Use the blade guards for both the pole saw and hedge trimmer attachments when storing to prevent accidental injury and protect the blades.
