1. Introduction

The Insta360 Mic Air is a compact, ultralight wireless microphone system designed for high-quality audio capture. It features advanced noise cancelling, a long transmission range, and versatile compatibility with USB-C devices including smartphones, tablets, and computers, as well as direct connection to select Insta360 cameras.

3. Setup and Connection

3.1 Charging the Transmitter

Connect the charging base to a USB-A power source using the provided cable. Place the transmitter on the charging base. The indicator light on the transmitter will show the charging status.

3.2 Wearing the Transmitter

The transmitter offers multiple wearing options for various scenarios:

• Magnetic Attachment: Use the button magnet or clip magnet to secure the transmitter to clothing.
• Pendant: Attach the transmitter to the magnet pendant for wearing around the neck.

3.3 Connecting to Devices

The Insta360 Mic Air supports two primary connection methods:

1. Direct Bluetooth Connection (Transmitter Only): The transmitter can connect directly to Insta360 X5, Insta360 X4, and Insta360 Ace Pro 2 cameras via Bluetooth for audio recording. Ensure your camera firmware is updated to the latest version for optimal compatibility.
2. Receiver Connection (Transmitter + Receiver): For USB-C smartphones, tablets, and computers, plug the USB-C receiver into your device's USB-C port. The transmitter will automatically pair with the receiver. This setup is required for mobile devices and offers a stable wireless range of up to 300 meters.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the power button on the transmitter to turn it on or off. An indicator light will confirm the power status.

4.2 Audio Recording

• Transmitter not connecting to Insta360 camera: Verify that your camera's firmware is updated to the latest version. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on the camera and the Mic Air is in pairing mode.
• Interference: Move away from other wireless devices or sources of electromagnetic interference that may disrupt the signal.

6.2 Audio Quality Issues

• Muffled or unclear audio: Ensure the transmitter is positioned correctly and not obstructed by clothing or other objects. Check if the windshield is properly installed in windy conditions.
• Excessive background noise: Activate the noise cancelling feature.

6.3 Battery Life

• Short battery life: Ensure the device is fully charged before use. Battery life can vary based on usage, environmental factors, and whether noise cancellation is active. The transmitter provides approximately 7.5 hours when connected directly to an Insta360 X5 camera and approximately 10 hours when connected to the receiver.

6.4 Multiple Transmitters

• Connecting two transmitters to one receiver: This functionality is supported. Update both the transmitter and receiver firmware to v1.0.0.20 or above. Note that Insta360 cameras (X5/X4/Ace Pro 2) do not support connecting two transmitters via direct Bluetooth mode.
