3. Installing the Trash Bag and Liner Ring

The trash can features a removable liner ring to secure trash bags and conceal them from view. This design maximizes capacity by offering 25% more room compared to traditional inner liner designs.

  1. Lift the lid assembly from the trash can body.
  2. Place a standard 13-gallon (50-liter) trash bag into the can. EKO Code F trash bags are recommended for a perfect fit.
  3. Drape the top edge of the trash bag over the rim of the can.
  4. Place the liner ring over the trash bag, securing it in place and tucking any excess bag material.
  5. Carefully reattach the lid assembly onto the trash can body.

Operating Instructions

1. Motion Sensor Operation

The EKO Phantom-T features premium motion sensor technology for hands-free operation. Simply wave your hand approximately 6-10 inches above the sensor located on the lid. The dual-wing lid will open smoothly and quietly. It will remain open for a few seconds and then close automatically with a soft-close mechanism.

  • Press the OPEN button to keep the lid open indefinitely.
  • Press the CLOSE button to close the lid when it is in the manual open state.

A power switch is located on the back of the lid assembly. This allows you to turn off the motion sensor function when not needed, such as during extended cleaning or when changing the trash bag.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

The brushed stainless steel finish is designed to be fingerprint resistant, making cleaning simple. Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish. Ensure the lid's electronic components remain dry.

2. Changing Batteries

When the motion sensor becomes unresponsive or the lid movement slows, it may be time to replace the batteries. Refer to the 'Battery Installation' section for instructions.

3. Odor Filter (if applicable)

Some models may include an odor filter. Check the underside of your lid for a designated compartment. Replace the odor filter periodically according to the manufacturer's recommendations to maintain freshness.
