Battery Installation and Charging

Battery Options

The ProTac HP-X USB flashlight is designed to operate with either the included Streamlight SL-B26 USB-C rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack or two CR123A lithium batteries. The SL-B26 battery offers improved sustainability and lower operating costs due to its rechargeable nature.

Installing Batteries

1. Unscrew the tail cap of the flashlight.
2. Insert the SL-B26 rechargeable battery with the positive (+) end facing towards the head of the flashlight, or insert two CR123A batteries with the positive (+) ends facing towards the head.
3. Screw the tail cap back on securely.

Charging the SL-B26 Battery

The SL-B26 battery features an integrated USB-C port for direct charging. To charge:

1. Remove the SL-B26 battery from the flashlight.
2. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the port on the battery.
3. Plug the other end of the USB-C cable into a suitable USB power source.
4. An indicator light on the battery will show its charging status: Red indicates charging is in progress, and Green indicates a sufficient charge.

Operating Instructions

Tail Switch Operation

The flashlight is operated using the multi-function push-button tactical tail switch. A quick press activates the light, and subsequent presses cycle through modes or turn it off, depending on the selected program.

TEN-TAP Programming

The ProTac HP-X USB features TEN-TAP programming, allowing you to customize the sequence of light modes. There are three available programs:

• Program 1 (Default): High > Strobe > Low
• Program 2: High Only
• Program 3: Low > Medium > High

To change the program setting:

1. Ensure the flashlight is in the OFF position.
2. Rapidly tap the tail switch 10 times (within 0.4 seconds per tap). On the 10th tap, hold the switch down.
3. The light will cycle through the available programs. Release the switch when the desired program is illuminated.
4. The flashlight is now set to the new program.
