2. Safety Information
Observe the following safety precautions during installation and operation:
- Always disconnect the power supply from the wall outlet before installing or removing any components.
- Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to sensitive components.
- Handle tempered glass panels with care. They are fragile and can break if dropped or subjected to impact.
- Keep small parts and screws away from children.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the PC case to prevent overheating.
- Do not operate the PC case in excessively humid or dusty environments.
3. Package Contents
Verify that all items are present in the package:
- Lian Li Lancool 217 Mid-Tower ATX PC Case
- Accessory Box (containing screws, standoffs, zip ties, etc.)
- User Manual (this document)
- Pre-installed fans (quantity and size may vary by model)
4. Setup and Component Installation
4.1 Preparing the Case
Before installing components, remove the side panels. The tempered glass side panel can be opened by unlatching it, and the steel side panel can be removed by unscrewing the thumbscrews at the rear.

4.2 Motherboard Installation
The Lancool 217 supports ATX motherboards. Install the necessary standoffs onto the motherboard tray according to your motherboard's form factor. Carefully place the motherboard onto the standoffs, aligning the screw holes, and secure it with screws from the accessory box.
4.3 Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation
The PSU mounts at the bottom rear of the case. Slide your ATX power supply into the designated bay from the rear of the case and secure it with screws.
4.4 Storage Drive Installation
The case provides bays for 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives. Locate the drive cages and mounting points, typically behind the motherboard tray or in the PSU shroud area. Secure your SSDs and HDDs using the provided screws.
4.5 Graphics Card and Expansion Card Installation
Remove the necessary PCIe slot covers from the rear of the case. Insert your graphics card or other expansion cards into the motherboard's PCIe slots and secure them with screws.
4.6 Cooling System and Fan Configuration
The Lancool 217 is designed for excellent airflow. It comes with pre-installed fans. Additional fans or liquid cooling radiators can be mounted at the front, top, and rear. Refer to the specifications for supported fan and radiator sizes.

4.7 Cable Management
Utilize the cable routing cutouts and tie-down points behind the motherboard tray to manage cables. This improves airflow and maintains a clean aesthetic.
5. Operating Instructions
After all components are installed and cables are connected, replace the side panels. Connect your peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse) and the power cable to the PSU. Press the power button located on the front panel to start your system.
The front panel also features USB 3.0 ports for convenient access to external devices.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Dust Filter Cleaning
The Lancool 217 includes dust filters to prevent dust buildup inside the case. Regularly clean these filters to maintain optimal airflow and cooling performance. The front mesh panel is magnetic and easily removable for cleaning. Check the top and bottom filters as well.

6.2 General Cleaning
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior of the case. For tempered glass, use a glass cleaner applied to a cloth, not directly to the glass. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| System does not power on. | Power cables not connected, faulty PSU, front panel connectors incorrectly wired. | Check all power connections (wall outlet, PSU, motherboard). Verify front panel header connections (Power SW). Test PSU if possible. |
| Fans are not spinning or are excessively noisy. | Fan cables disconnected, fan obstruction, faulty fan. | Ensure fan cables are securely connected to the motherboard or fan controller. Check for any obstructions. Replace faulty fans if necessary. |
| High internal temperatures. | Poor airflow, dust buildup, insufficient cooling. | Clean dust filters. Ensure fans are oriented correctly for optimal airflow (intake/exhaust). Consider adding more fans or upgrading cooling solutions. |
| USB ports on front panel not working. | Front panel USB cable not connected to motherboard. | Verify the USB 3.0 header cable from the front panel is correctly connected to the motherboard. |
