3. Setup Guide

3.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Upon receiving your Moultrie Edge camera, carefully unbox all components. Ensure the package contains the camera unit, instruction manual, and mounting straps.

3.2 Battery Installation

The Moultrie Edge camera requires 16 AA batteries. To install, press the release button to open the battery pack. Insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators inside the tray. Ensure the tray is inserted correctly, following the "This side up" and "This end first" labels.

3.3 Moultrie Mobile App Activation

Download the Moultrie Mobile App from your device's app store. Scan the QR code located inside the camera's battery compartment to activate your camera and link it to your account. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the activation process.

3.4 Mounting the Camera

Use the provided straps to securely mount the camera to a tree or post. Ensure the camera is positioned at an appropriate height and angle for optimal detection. Remember to extend the antenna before tightening the strap to ensure proper signal reception.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On and Connectivity

Once batteries are installed and the camera is mounted, switch the camera to the 'ON' position. The camera will initiate a quick lighting sequence to connect to the strongest available cellular signal. The status lights will indicate connection progress (Connecting, Connected, Not Connected).

4.2 Using the Moultrie Mobile App

The Moultrie Mobile App allows you to manage your camera remotely. You can view captured photos and videos, adjust camera settings, monitor battery life and signal strength, and utilize advanced features like species recognition and weather data.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement

Monitor battery life through the Moultrie Mobile App. Replace all 16 AA batteries when the app indicates low power to ensure continuous operation. Always use fresh, high-quality batteries for best performance.

5.2 Cleaning and Storage

Periodically clean the camera lens and IR sensors with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear images. When storing the camera for extended periods, remove all batteries to prevent leakage and damage. Store in a cool, dry place.

5.3 Firmware Updates

Moultrie may release firmware updates to improve camera performance or add new features. Check the Moultrie Mobile App regularly for available updates and follow the in-app instructions for installation.
