Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the radio is powered off.
  2. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the radio.
  3. Align the 1200mAh Li-ion battery with the compartment contacts.
  4. Press the battery firmly until it clicks into place.

2. Charging the Battery

The RT68 uses a 1200mAh Li-ion battery, providing approximately 12 hours of continuous use and 30 hours of standby time. Charge the battery fully before first use.

  1. Connect the USB charging base to a power source using the provided adapter or a compatible USB port (PC, car charger, power bank).
  2. Place the radio into the charging base. The indicator light on the base will show charging status (typically red for charging, green for fully charged).
  3. Alternatively, the battery can be charged separately by placing it directly into the charging base.

3. Attaching Accessories

Attach the belt clip to the back of the radio for easy carrying. The handstrap can be attached to the designated loop for added security.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Volume Adjustment

  1. To power on, rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until you hear a click and the radio announces the channel.
  2. To adjust the volume, continue rotating the Power/Volume knob. Clockwise increases volume, counter-clockwise decreases it.
  3. To power off, rotate the Power/Volume knob counter-clockwise until you hear a click.

2. Channel Selection

The RT68 features 16 FRS channels. To select a channel:

  1. Rotate the Channel knob to select the desired channel. The radio will announce the channel number.
  2. Ensure all radios in your group are set to the same channel for communication.

3. Transmitting and Receiving

  1. To transmit, press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button on the side of the radio. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  2. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.
  3. When receiving a signal, the radio will automatically output the audio.

4. VOX Function (Hands-Free Operation)

The VOX (Voice Operated Exchange) function allows you to transmit without pressing the PTT button. The radio will automatically transmit when it detects your voice.

5. Squelch Function

The squelch function automatically mutes the speaker when no signal is present, reducing background noise. The RT68 has an automatic squelch level.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Clean the radio's surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the radio is dry before use.

2. Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid overcharging or completely draining the battery. Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use.

3. Storage

When storing the radio for extended periods, remove the battery. Store the radio in a dry, dust-free environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

4. Durability

The RT68 is constructed with sturdy ABS&PC materials, designed to withstand 1-meter drops. While rugged, avoid unnecessary impacts to ensure longevity.
