What's in the Box

Upon opening your package, please ensure all the following items are present:

• 1 x BOYI YK82 Aluminum Keyboard
• 2 x Extra Switches
• 1 x User's Manual
• 1 x USB Cable
• 1 x 2.4G Receiver
• 1 x Keycap & Switch Puller

Setup Instructions

The BOYI YK82 keyboard supports three connection modes: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, and wired USB-C. Choose the mode that best suits your needs.

1. Wired Connection (Type-C)

1. Locate the USB Type-C port on the keyboard.
2. Connect one end of the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard and the other end to an available USB port on your computer.
3. The keyboard will automatically be recognized by your system and is ready for use.

2. 2.4GHz Wireless Connection

1. Locate the 2.4G receiver included in the package.
2. Plug the 2.4G receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
3. On the keyboard, switch to 2.4G mode by pressing FN + 4. The keyboard will connect automatically.

3. Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

The keyboard can connect to up to three different Bluetooth devices.

1. On the keyboard, switch to Bluetooth mode by pressing FN + 1, FN + 2, or FN + 3 (short press to switch between paired devices).
2. For initial pairing, long press FN + 1 (or FN + 2 / FN + 3) until the indicator light flashes, indicating pairing mode.
3. On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), open Bluetooth settings and search for "BOYI YK82" (or similar).
4. Select the keyboard to pair. Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing.

Operating Instructions

Multi-function Knob

The knob provides quick control over volume and lighting settings.

• Default Function:
  • Clockwise rotation: Volume Up (+)
  • Counter-clockwise rotation: Volume Down (-)
  • Press: Mute/Unmute
• Lighting Adjustment Mode:
  • To enter lighting adjustment mode, press FN + Knob Press.
  • Clockwise rotation: Brightness Up (+)
  • Counter-clockwise rotation: Brightness Down (-)
  • Press: Switch Backlight Mode

Backlight Control (FN Key Combinations)

Utilize the Function (FN) key in combination with other keys to control the keyboard's RGB backlighting.

• FN + ESC: Restore Factory Settings
• FN + DEL: Switch Backlight Mode
• FN + Home: Backlight Color Switching
• FN + Arrow Down: Dynamic Light Effects Slow Down
• FN + Arrow Up: Dynamic Light Effects Are Faster
• FN + Page Up: Backlight Brightness +
• FN + Page Down: Backlight Brightness -
• FN + Enter: Backlight Off / On with One Touch

Software Customization

The keyboard supports custom software for advanced customization. This software allows you to:

• Design new lighting effects.
• Build macros for complex commands.
• Set up per-key lighting and effects.

Maintenance

Hot-Swappable Switches

The BOYI YK82 features a full key hot-swap design, allowing you to easily change switches without soldering. This keyboard is compatible with most 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches.

1. Using the provided keycap puller, gently remove the desired keycap.
2. Using the provided switch puller, carefully grip the switch and pull it straight up to remove it from the PCB.
3. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight to avoid bending.
4. Gently press the new switch into place until it clicks securely.
5. Replace the keycap.

Keycap Care

The keyboard comes with double-shot PBT keycaps, known for their durability and resistance to wear and oil. To clean your keycaps:

• Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris.
• For deeper cleaning, remove keycaps using the keycap puller and wash them with mild soap and water. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the keycaps.

Troubleshooting

• Keyboard not responding:
  • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected in wired mode.
  • For wireless modes, check if the keyboard is powered on and fully charged.
  • Verify the correct connection mode (2.4G or Bluetooth) is selected on the keyboard.
  • Try reconnecting the 2.4G receiver or re-pairing the Bluetooth device.
  • Test the keyboard on a different USB port or computer to rule out port/system issues.
• Backlight not working or incorrect:
  • Press FN + Enter to toggle the backlight on/off.
  • Adjust brightness using FN + Page Up/Down.
  • Cycle through backlight modes with FN + DEL.
  • If issues persist, try restoring factory settings with FN + ESC.
• Intermittent wireless connection:
  • Ensure the keyboard is within range of the receiver/device.
  • Minimize interference from other wireless devices.
  • Check battery level and charge if necessary.

The BOYI YK82 Mechanical Keyboard comes with a 1-Year Warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers manufacturing defects and malfunctions under normal use. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear.
