3. Setup

Before first use, proper setup is crucial for safe and efficient operation.

3.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the generator and all accessories from the packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage during shipping. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present, including the oil funnel and tools.

3.2 Adding Engine Oil

The generator is shipped without engine oil. You must add the correct type and amount of oil before starting. Use 10W-30 oil.

  1. Place the generator on a level surface.
  2. Locate the oil fill cap/dipstick.
  3. Remove the cap and use the provided funnel to slowly add the recommended amount of 10W-30 engine oil. Do not overfill.
  4. Replace the oil fill cap/dipstick securely.

3.3 Adding Fuel

Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use E85 or mixed fuels.

  1. Ensure the generator is off and cool.
  2. Unscrew the fuel cap.
  3. Slowly add gasoline to the fuel tank (1.6-gallon capacity), being careful not to overfill. Leave some space for expansion.
  4. Securely replace the fuel cap.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to safely start and operate your PowerSmart inverter generator.

4.1 Starting the Generator

  1. Ensure the generator is on a level surface outdoors, away from any enclosed areas.
  2. Check engine oil and fuel levels.
  3. Turn the engine switch to the "ON" position.
  4. Pull out the choke lever to the "CHOKE" position (if the engine is cold).
  5. Firmly pull the recoil starter handle until the engine starts.
  6. Once the engine starts, slowly push the choke lever back to the "RUN" position.

4.3 Connecting Electrical Devices
