Key Components:
- LCD Display: Shows scan mode, detection depth, signal strength, battery status, and center point indication.
- Power Button: Turns the device on and off.
- Mode Selection Button: Cycles through different detection modes (e.g., metal, wood, AC wire).
- Sensor Area: Located on the back of the device, this area must be in contact with the surface being scanned.
- Rubber Backing: Protects the wall surface during scanning.
4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation:
- Open the battery compartment cover located on the back of the device (refer to Figure 3).
- Insert the required batteries, ensuring correct polarity. (Note: Batteries are not included with the device).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.2 Initial Calibration:
- Place the device flat against the surface you intend to scan, ensuring there are no known objects or wires directly beneath it.
- Press the power button to turn on the device.
- The device will automatically calibrate. This process typically involves pressing the metal detection button or simply waiting for the device to stabilize. Ensure the device is held still during calibration.
- A successful calibration will be indicated on the LCD screen.
5. Operating Instructions
The device offers various detection modes to identify different materials.
5.1 Selecting a Detection Mode:
- After turning on the device, use the Mode Selection Button to cycle through the available detection modes. The selected mode will be displayed on the LCD screen.
- Common modes include:
- Metal Detection: For ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Wood Detection: For wooden studs or beams.
- AC Wire Detection: For live electrical wires.
5.2 Scanning Procedure:
- Place the device flat against the surface to be scanned.
- Slowly move the device horizontally across the surface. Maintain constant contact and pressure.
- Observe the LCD display for indications of detected objects.
- Detection Depth: The display will show the approximate detection depth. The maximum detection depth is 120 mm.
- Signal Strength: An increasing signal strength indicator suggests proximity to an object.
- Center Point Indication: The device will indicate the center of a detected object, allowing for precise marking.
- Acoustic Alarm: An audible alarm will sound when an object is detected.
- Light Indication: Visual indicators (e.g., LEDs) may also signal detection.
5.3 Identifying Objects:
- When an object is detected, the device will typically indicate the type of material (metal, wood, AC wire) on the screen.
- For live AC wires, exercise extreme caution. Always verify with other methods if possible before proceeding with any work.
5.4 Automatic Shut-off:
- The device is equipped with an automatic shut-off feature. If no operation is performed for approximately 5 minutes, the device will power off to conserve battery life.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the device in a dry, dust-free environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries.
- Protection: The rubber backing helps prevent damage to walls. The device may also come with a protective case.

7. Troubleshooting
- Device does not turn on:
- Check if batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
- Inaccurate readings:
- Ensure the device is properly calibrated before scanning.
- Make sure the device is held flat against the surface and moved slowly and consistently.
- Avoid scanning over wet or highly reflective surfaces, which can interfere with detection.
- Ensure there are no other electronic devices nearby that could cause interference.
- No detection:
- Verify that the correct detection mode is selected for the material you are trying to find.
- The object might be deeper than the maximum detection depth (120 mm).
