2. Product Components
The MUDDY Trifecta 180 Cellular Trail Camera bundle consists of the following main components:
- MUDDY Trifecta 180 Cellular Trail Camera: The primary device for capturing photos and videos.
- SanDisk 32GB Ultra SDHC UHS-I Memory Card: For storing captured images and videos.
- Focus All-In-One High Speed Card Reader: For transferring data from the memory card to a computer.

3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
The MUDDY Trifecta 180 camera requires 16 AA batteries for operation. For optimal performance and extended field use, it is recommended to use high-quality alkaline or lithium batteries. The camera also supports external 12V DC input.
- Open the camera housing by unlatching the side clips.
- Locate the battery tray inside the camera.
- Insert 16 AA batteries into the tray, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated.
- Close the battery tray securely.

3.2. Memory Card Installation
A SanDisk 32GB Ultra SDHC UHS-I Memory Card is included in your bundle. This card is essential for storing captured data.
- With the camera housing open, locate the SD card slot.
- Insert the SanDisk 32GB SD card into the slot with the label facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.
- To remove, gently push the card in until it springs out.
3.3. SIM Card Installation (Not Included)
As a cellular trail camera, the Trifecta 180 requires a compatible SIM card (not included) for cellular data transmission. Consult your cellular provider for a suitable data plan and SIM card.
- Locate the SIM card slot, typically near the SD card slot or battery compartment.
- Insert the SIM card according to the diagram near the slot.
3.4. Mounting the Camera
The camera features a multi-position mount and a 1/4-20 threaded insert for flexible mounting options. A python cable security option is also available for added security (cable sold separately).
- Strap Mounting: Use the included strap to secure the camera to a tree or pole. Thread the strap through the designated slots on the back of the camera.
- Tripod/Mounting Arm: Utilize the 1/4-20 threaded insert on the bottom of the camera to attach it to a tripod or compatible mounting arm.
- Security: For theft deterrence, a python cable can be routed through the security slot on the camera housing.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Powering On/Off
Locate the power switch inside the camera housing. Slide the switch to "ON" to power on the camera and to "OFF" to power it off.
4.2. Basic Operation and Settings
The Trifecta 180 is designed for automatic operation once configured. Key operational features include:
- Trigger Speed: The camera boasts a fast 0.4-second trigger speed to capture quick movements.
- Photo Burst Mode: Captures 1-3 photos in quick succession per trigger event.
- Time-Out Delays: Customizable delays ranging from 2-59 seconds or 1-59 minutes between trigger events. This setting helps manage battery life and storage space.
- Detection and Flash Range: Features an 80-foot detection and flash range for effective monitoring.
4.3. Command App Integration
The camera is compatible with the Command App, allowing for remote control and data access. This app enables:
- On-Demand Photo and Video: Request and view captured media remotely.
- Zone-Specific Control: Manage settings and monitor specific areas.
- Synchronization: Press the "SYNC" button inside the camera to initiate a test photo and synchronize with the Command App. If successful, the photo will appear in your Command Pro app.
4.4. Photo and Video Modes
The camera supports high-resolution imaging and video recording:
- Photo Resolution: Up to 36 Megapixels (MP).
- Video Recording: 1080p Full HD video with audio.
- Panoramic View: Unique 180-degree panoramic view powered by three independent PIR sensors.
5. Maintenance

- Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens, PIR sensors, and housing with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
- Battery Replacement: Replace all 16 AA batteries when the low battery indicator is active or when performance degrades. Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Memory Card Management: Regularly check the memory card for available space. Format the SD card periodically (after backing up data) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption.

6. Troubleshooting
Refer to the status codes inside the camera housing (Figure 3.1) for quick diagnostics. Below are common issues and their solutions:
