3. Setup and Installation
The ZAFRO Portable Air Conditioner comes with a complete window kit for easy installation in most standard windows.
Included Components:
- Portable Air Conditioner Unit
- Exhaust Hose
- Window Seal Plate Kit (various panels)
- Hose Adapter
- Remote Control
- Drain Hose (for continuous drainage in dehumidifier mode, if needed)

Installation Steps:
- Position the Unit: Place the air conditioner on a flat, stable surface near a window and a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure there is at least 12 inches (30 cm) of space around the unit for proper airflow.
- Assemble the Exhaust Hose: Attach the hose adapter to one end of the exhaust hose and the window kit adapter to the other end.
- Install the Window Seal Plate Kit:
- Open the window and adjust the window seal plate panels (A, B, C, D) to fit the window opening. Secure them in place.
- Insert the window kit adapter of the exhaust hose into the opening of the window seal plate.
- Connect the Exhaust Hose: Connect the exhaust hose to the exhaust port on the back of the air conditioner unit. Ensure a secure fit to prevent air leakage.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded 115V/60Hz electrical outlet.
4. Operating Instructions
Your ZAFRO Portable Air Conditioner can be controlled via the digital control panel, the included remote control, or the ZAFRO mobile app.

Control Panel and Remote Control Functions:
- Power Button: Turns the unit ON/OFF.
- Mode Button: Cycles through Cooling, Fan, Dehumidifier, and Sleep modes.
- Temperature Up/Down Buttons: Adjusts the desired temperature in Cooling mode.
- Fan Speed Button: Selects fan speed (Low, Mid, High, Auto).
- Timer Button: Sets the 24-hour ON/OFF timer.
- Sleep Mode Button: Activates or deactivates Sleep mode for quiet, energy-efficient operation during sleep.
- Child Lock: (If available on model) Locks the control panel to prevent accidental changes.
ZAFRO Mobile App Control:
Download the ZAFRO app from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your portable air conditioner to your home WiFi network. The app allows you to:
- Turn the unit ON/OFF remotely.
- Change operating modes and fan speeds.
- Set and adjust the 24-hour timer.
- Monitor room temperature and humidity.
- Receive filter cleaning reminders.
Operating Modes:
- Cooling Mode: Provides powerful cooling. Set your desired temperature between 61°F and 86°F.
- Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Choose from Low, Mid, High, or Auto fan speeds.
- Dehumidifier Mode: Removes excess moisture from the air. The adjustable humidity setting range is 30-70%. The self-draining technology minimizes the need for manual water disposal.
- Sleep Mode: Optimizes cooling and fan speed for quiet operation during sleep, gradually increasing the temperature slightly to save energy and ensure comfort.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air conditioner.
Air Filter Cleaning:
The unit features an easy-to-remove and washable air filter. A smart alert will notify you when it's time to clean the filter (typically after 600 hours of use).
- Unplug the air conditioner from the power outlet.
- Locate and remove the air filter from the back or side of the unit.
- Wash the filter under running water with a mild detergent.
- Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinserting it into the unit.
- Plug the unit back in.
Unit Cleaning:
- Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Ensure the unit is completely dry before plugging it back in.
Storage:
If storing the unit for an extended period, ensure it is clean and dry. Store it in a cool, dry place, preferably in its original packaging.
