Setup Instructions

1. Charge the Battery: Before first use, fully charge the built-in 4,000mAh rechargeable battery using the provided USB Type-C cable. The battery compartment is integrated with the water pump unit.
2. Prepare Filters: Soak the new filters and sponges in clean water for approximately 5-10 minutes. This helps remove any loose carbon dust and ensures optimal filtration.
3. Assemble Filters: Place the prepared filters and sponges into their designated slots within the fountain's filtration system. Refer to the diagram for correct placement.
4. Fill with Water: Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the 'MAX' line.

Operating Modes

The DownyPaws Cat Water Fountain offers two distinct operating modes to suit your pet's preferences and conserve battery life:

• Motion Sensor Mode: In this mode, the water pump activates automatically when your cat approaches within a range of 5 feet (1.5 meters) and a 120-degree angle. This simulates a fresh running tap, encouraging your pet to drink more.
• Timer Mode: The fountain will dispense water for 20 seconds every 15 minutes. This ensures regular water availability without constant motion activation.

To switch between modes, briefly press the power button on the pump unit. The indicator light will change to confirm the selected mode.

Maintenance

Regular cleaning and filter replacement are crucial for maintaining water quality and extending the life of your fountain.

Cleaning Instructions:

1. Disassembly: Turn off the fountain and carefully disassemble all parts: stainless steel tray, pump unit, and water reservoir.
2. Clean Components: Wash the stainless steel tray and water reservoir with mild soap and water. Use the provided cleaning brush to reach tight spots.
3. Spout Cleaning: Rinse the spout of the pump unit thoroughly. NOTE: Do NOT immerse the battery compartment of the pump unit in water.
4. Rinse Filters: Rinse the filters and sponges under running water. Replace them according to the recommended schedule.
5. Reassembly: Ensure all parts are dry before reassembling the fountain.

Filter Replacement:

The 5-level filtration system includes activated carbon, ion exchange resin, medical stone, non-woven fabric, and a high-density sponge. For optimal water quality, it is recommended to replace the filters and sponges every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage and the number of pets.
