5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Ball Lock Control
The main lever on the side of the ball head controls the movement of the ball. Loosen the lever to allow the camera to tilt and swivel freely. Tighten the lever to lock the camera in your desired position.

5.2 Pan Lock Control
The smaller knob located on the base of the ball head controls the panning movement. Loosen this knob to rotate the camera horizontally 360 degrees. Tighten it to lock the panning position. This allows for panoramic shots without disturbing the camera's tilt angle.

5.3 Friction Adjustment
The NBBH4 features a friction adjustment knob, typically integrated with the main ball lock lever or as a separate small knob. This allows you to set the resistance of the ball movement when the main lock is loosened. Adjust the friction to match the weight of your camera setup, providing smoother, more controlled movements and preventing sudden drops when repositioning.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the ball head after each use. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by immediate drying.
- Avoid Lubricants: Do not apply any lubricants or oils to the ball or locking mechanisms, as this can attract dust and impair performance.
- Storage: Store the ball head in a clean, dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
- Inspection: Periodically check all screws and knobs for tightness. Use the provided Allen key to tighten any loose screws.
7. Troubleshooting
- Camera wobbles on ball head: Ensure the quick release plate is securely attached to the camera and the quick release clamp on the ball head is fully tightened.
- Ball movement is stiff or gritty: The ball head may require cleaning. Refer to the Maintenance section. Avoid using lubricants.
- Ball does not lock securely: Ensure the main ball lock lever is fully tightened. If the issue persists, check the friction adjustment; it might be set too low for your camera's weight.
- Panning movement is not smooth: Ensure the pan lock knob is sufficiently loosened. Clean the panning base if necessary.
