1. Safety Instructions

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Battery

1. Connect the charger to a power outlet.
2. Insert the 12V 2.0Ah battery into the charger.
3. The charging indicator light on the charger will show the charging status. A full charge takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
4. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

4.2 Attaching and Detaching the Battery

1. To attach: Align the battery with the battery slot at the bottom of the polisher handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place.
2. To detach: Press the release buttons on both sides of the battery and pull the battery downwards to remove it.

4.3 Changing Backing Plates and Eccentric Wheels

The polisher supports both 30mm and 50mm backing plates and allows switching between 3mm and 12mm eccentric wheels for dual-action polishing, or using it in single-action mode.

1. For Single Action: Attach the collet adapter shaft and collet directly to the polisher's spindle. This allows for direct drive rotation.
2. For Dual Action:
   • Select either the 3mm or 12mm eccentric wheel.
   • Attach the chosen eccentric wheel to the polisher's spindle.
   • Secure the desired backing plate (30mm or 50mm) onto the eccentric wheel. Use the provided wrench to tighten securely.
3. Ensure all attachments are firmly secured before operation.

4.4 Attaching Polishing Pads

The backing plates feature a Velcro surface for easy attachment of polishing pads.

1. Select the appropriate polishing pad (sponge, microfiber, or wool) for your task.
2. Align the pad with the backing plate and press firmly to secure it.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

1. Ensure the battery is securely attached.
2. To turn on, press the power switch.
3. To turn off, press the power switch again.
4. The speed lock button can be used to maintain a continuous speed without holding the trigger.

5.2 Speed Adjustment

The ZOTA DP2A features a six-stage variable speed control dial (2800-4500 RPM).

1. Rotate the speed control dial to select the desired RPM setting.
2. Low Speed (1-2, 2800-3200 RPM): Ideal for delicate surfaces, fine finishing, and initial spreading of compounds.
3. Medium Speed (3-4, 3300-3800 RPM): Suitable for general polishing, light defect removal, and applying waxes/sealants.
4. High Speed (5-6, 3900-4500 RPM): For professional-level mirror finishes, heavy defect removal, and compounding.

5.3 Application Techniques

• Apply a small amount of polishing compound or wax directly to the pad or the surface.
• Start the polisher at a low speed to spread the product evenly over a small section.
• Increase the speed as needed and move the polisher in a consistent, overlapping pattern.
• Maintain light to moderate pressure. Avoid excessive pressure, especially with dual-action modes, as this can stall the pad rotation.
• Work on small sections at a time (e.g., 2x2 feet) to ensure thorough coverage and prevent product from drying.
• For intricate areas like door mirrors or headlight restoration, use the 30mm backing plate and appropriate pads.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Polisher

• Always remove the battery before cleaning.
• Wipe the polisher body with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
• Ensure the ventilation ports are clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating.

6.2 Cleaning and Replacing Pads

• After each use, remove the polishing pad from the backing plate.
• Clean pads with warm water and a mild detergent, or a dedicated pad cleaner. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storage or reuse.
• Replace pads when they become worn, torn, or no longer perform effectively.

6.3 Battery Care and Storage

• Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Do not store batteries in a fully discharged state for extended periods. Charge them periodically if not in use.
• Avoid dropping or physically damaging the battery packs.

6.4 General Storage

• Store the polisher and all accessories in the provided carrying case to protect them from dust and damage.
• Keep out of reach of children.
