The RC ERA C184 MD500 is a 4-channel, flybarless RC helicopter featuring a 6-axis gyroscope for stable flight. Setup

1. Charging the Helicopter Battery

  1. Connect the USB charging cable to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  2. Connect the helicopter battery to the USB charging cable.
  3. The charging indicator on the USB cable will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.
  4. Charging time is approximately 60 minutes. Do not overcharge.

2. Installing Transmitter Batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control transmitter.
  2. Insert 4 x AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
  3. Close the battery compartment securely.

3. Installing Helicopter Battery

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the helicopter.
  2. Carefully insert the charged 7.4V 350mAh battery into the compartment.
  3. Ensure the battery is securely connected to the helicopter's power port.

Operating Instructions

1. Binding the Transmitter and Helicopter

  1. Place the helicopter on a flat, level surface.
  2. Turn on the helicopter's power switch. The indicator light will flash.
  3. Turn on the remote control transmitter.
  4. Push the throttle stick (left stick) all the way up, then all the way down.
  5. The helicopter's indicator light will become solid, indicating successful binding.

2. Basic Flight Controls

The transmitter features gimbal sticks for precise control:

  • Left Stick (Throttle/Yaw):
    • Push up/down to control ascent/descent.
    • Push left/right to control yaw (rotation left/right).
  • Right Stick (Forward/Backward/Side Flight):
    • Push up/down to control forward/backward movement.
    • Push left/right to control side flight (strafe left/right).

3. One-Button Takeoff and Landing

  • After binding, press the One-Button Takeoff button on the transmitter. The helicopter will automatically ascend to a stable hovering altitude.
  • To land, press the One-Button Landing button. The helicopter will slowly descend and land automatically.

4. 6G Mode for Stability

The 6G mode utilizes a 6-axis gyroscope to provide enhanced flight stability, making it ideal for beginners. This mode helps maintain a level flight attitude automatically. Refer to your transmitter manual for specific button assignments to activate/deactivate 6G mode.

5. Altitude Hold and Optical Flow Positioning

The helicopter is equipped with a barometer for altitude hold, allowing it to maintain a consistent height. The optical flow positioning system further enhances stability, especially in indoor environments, by detecting ground patterns to prevent drift.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the helicopter after each use. Avoid water or solvents.
  • Propeller Replacement: If propellers are damaged, use the included screwdriver and hex wrench to replace them with spare parts. Ensure the new propellers are installed correctly.
  • Battery Care: Always disconnect the battery after use. Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Do not fully discharge or overcharge batteries.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries from both the helicopter and the transmitter.

Troubleshooting
