Note: This device requires a neutral wire for installation. It operates on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and is not compatible with 5GHz networks, smart bulbs, or dimming functions. It is a single-pole switch.

2. Safety Information

  • Electrical Hazard: Installation involves high voltage. Ensure power is turned off at the circuit breaker before installation. If you are unsure about electrical wiring, consult a qualified electrician.
  • Neutral Wire Required: This smart switch requires a neutral wire (typically white) for proper operation. Verify its presence in your electrical box before proceeding with installation.
  • Indoor Use Only: This device is intended for indoor use in dry locations.
  • Load Compatibility: Do not exceed the maximum load rating of 10 Amps / 2200 Watts.
  • Non-Dimmable: This switch is designed for ON/OFF control only and is not compatible with dimmable light fixtures or smart bulbs that require dimming.

5. Installation Guide

Before beginning installation, ensure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker to prevent electrical shock. A neutral wire is required for this smart switch.

  1. Turn Off Power: Locate your circuit breaker and turn off the power to the switch you are replacing. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
  2. Remove Old Switch: Carefully remove the existing wall plate and unscrew the old switch from the wall box. Disconnect the wires.
  3. Identify Wires: Identify the Live (Load), Neutral, and Ground wires. This smart switch requires a neutral wire.
  4. Connect Wires: Connect the wires from your wall box to the corresponding terminals on the MOES smart switch.
    • Connect the Live wire to the 'L' terminal.
    • Connect the Neutral wire to the 'N' terminal.
    • Connect the Load wire(s) to the 'L1', 'L2', 'L3', 'L4' terminals as appropriate for your setup (for a 1-gang switch, typically 'L1').
    • Connect the Ground wire (if present) to the ground screw.
  5. Mount the Switch: Gently push the wired switch into the wall box and secure it with the provided screws.
  6. Attach Faceplate: Snap the glass faceplate onto the switch module.
  7. Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker. The indicator light on the switch should illuminate.

6. Smart Home Setup and Pairing

The MOES Matter Wi-Fi Smart Light Switch supports Matter protocol for broad compatibility with smart home platforms. Ensure your smart home apps are updated to the latest version.

  1. Download App: Download the appropriate smart home app (e.g., Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings) on your smartphone.
  2. Add Device: Open the app and follow the instructions to add a new device. You may need to scan the Matter QR code provided with the switch or on the device itself.
  3. Connect to Wi-Fi: Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The switch will connect to this network during the pairing process.
  4. Complete Setup: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the pairing. Once connected, you can rename the switch and assign it to a room.

7. Operating Instructions

7.1. Manual Touch Control

The switch features a touch-sensitive glass panel. Simply tap the designated area on the switch to turn the connected light ON or OFF.

7.2. Voice Control

Once paired with a compatible voice assistant (Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri), you can control your lights using voice commands.

  • Alexa: "Alexa, turn on [Switch Name]."
  • Google Assistant: "Hey Google, turn off [Switch Name]."
  • Siri: "Hey Siri, turn on [Switch Name]."

7.3. Smart Timer & Automation

Utilize the smart home app to set up various timer and automation functions:

  • Countdown: Set a timer for the light to turn off after a specified duration.
  • Schedule: Program specific times for the light to turn ON or OFF daily or on selected days.
  • Circulate: Set recurring ON/OFF cycles.
  • Random: Create random ON/OFF patterns for security when away.
  • Inching: Configure the light to stay ON for a brief period after being turned ON.

7.4. Indicator Status Settings

The LED indicator on the switch can be configured via the smart home app to suit your preferences:

  • Indicate Switch Location: The indicator light remains on to help locate the switch in the dark.
  • Indicate Switch On/Off: The indicator light shows the current status of the light (on when light is on, off when light is off).
  • Indicator Off: The indicator light remains off at all times.

8. Maintenance

To maintain the appearance and functionality of your smart switch:

9. Troubleshooting
