Setup

1. Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the drone and accessories for any signs of damage during shipping. If any damage is found, contact customer support immediately.

2. Propeller Installation

Attach the Gemfan 5136 propellers to the motors. Ensure correct rotation direction for each propeller (CW - Clockwise and CCW - Counter-Clockwise) as indicated on the propeller and motor. The drone comes with 2CW and 2CCW propellers. Secure them firmly using the provided nuts.

3. Battery Preparation

The drone requires a LiPo 6S 1050mAh-1550mAh battery (not included). Ensure your battery is fully charged before first use. Use the provided battery anti-slip pads and straps to securely fasten the battery to the drone's top plate, ensuring it does not shift during flight.

4. Receiver Connection (PNP Version)

For the PNP (Plug-N-Play) version, you will need to connect your preferred receiver (e.g., ELRS 2.4G, TBS NanoRX) to the flight controller. Refer to the flight controller's specific wiring diagram and your receiver's manual for correct pinouts and binding procedures. Ensure the receiver is securely mounted and its antennas are positioned correctly for optimal signal.

5. Flight Controller Configuration (BetaFlight)

The drone is equipped with a GEP-F722-BT-HD V3 flight controller. Connect the drone to your computer via USB and use BetaFlight Configurator for initial setup, calibration, and firmware updates. Ensure all sensors (accelerometer, gyroscope) are calibrated, motor directions are correct, and flight modes are configured according to your preferences and safety guidelines.

Operating Instructions

1. Pre-Flight Checklist

  • Battery Check: Verify battery levels on both the drone and your remote controller are sufficient for the planned flight.
  • Propeller Integrity: Ensure all propellers are securely attached, free from cracks, chips, or bends.
  • Flight Area: Confirm no obstructions, people, or animals are present in the intended flight path. Fly in open, clear areas.
  • Signal Check: Confirm a stable connection between the drone and your remote controller.
  • Visual Inspection: Perform a quick visual inspection for any loose wires, components, or foreign objects on the drone.

2. Arming the Drone

After powering on the drone and remote controller, ensure a stable connection is established. Arm the motors using the designated switch or stick command on your remote controller (typically throttle down and yaw right). The motors will spin slowly once armed, indicating they are ready for flight.

3. Take-off and Flight

Gently increase throttle to lift off. Maintain smooth and controlled inputs on your remote controller. Practice hovering in a safe, open area before attempting advanced maneuvers or flying at higher speeds. Always be aware of your surroundings and maintain visual line of sight with the drone.

4. Landing

Reduce throttle slowly to descend. Aim for a flat, clear landing area. Once the drone has landed safely, immediately disarm the motors using the designated switch or stick command to prevent accidental propeller spin.

5. Video Transmission

The integrated O4 Air Unit Pro provides crystal-clear real-time video transmission. Ensure your FPV goggles or monitor are properly paired with the drone's video transmitter and receiving a clear signal before flight. Adjust video settings as needed for optimal clarity.

Maintenance

1. Post-Flight Inspection

After each flight, conduct a thorough inspection of the drone. Check for any damage to propellers, frame arms, motors, wiring, and the camera. Look for loose screws or components. Clean any dirt, dust, or debris that may have accumulated during flight.

2. Propeller Replacement

Replace bent, cracked, chipped, or otherwise damaged propellers immediately. Damaged propellers can cause severe instability, reduce flight efficiency, and potentially lead to crashes. Always use genuine Gemfan 5136 replacement propellers.

3. Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth or a small brush to clean the drone's frame and components. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no moisture enters electronic parts. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents. Compressed air can be used carefully to remove dust from hard-to-reach areas.

4. Storage

Store the drone in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the main flight battery from the drone and store it at a safe storage voltage (typically around 3.8V per cell for LiPo batteries).

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Drone does not armLow battery on drone or remote, Receiver not connected/bound, Safety switch not engaged, Flight controller error.Charge drone and remote batteries, Bind receiver to remote, Ensure arming switch is correctly set, Check BetaFlight for error messages.
Unstable flight / VibrationsDamaged or unbalanced propellers, Loose motor screws, Uncalibrated IMU (accelerometer/gyroscope), Bent motor shaft.Replace all damaged propellers, Tighten motor mounting screws, Calibrate IMU in BetaFlight, Inspect motors for damage.
No FPV video signalVTX not powered, Antenna disconnected or damaged, FPV goggles/monitor not paired or on wrong channel, Camera cable loose.Check VTX power connection, Reconnect/replace antenna, Ensure goggles/monitor are on correct frequency, Check camera cable connection.
Short flight timeOld or damaged battery, Aggressive flying style, Overloaded drone (e.g., heavy camera), Cold weather.Replace battery if degraded, Adjust flying style, Reduce payload, Be aware of temperature effects on battery performance.
Drone drifts during hoverUncalibrated accelerometer, Uneven weight distribution, Wind.Calibrate accelerometer in BetaFlight on a level surface, Ensure battery is centered, Compensate for wind with stick inputs.
