1. Important Safety Information
Read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating the chainsaw. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in serious injury.
General Chainsaw Safety
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate PPE, including a helmet, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and safety boots.
- Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clear of bystanders, children, and pets. Operate the chainsaw in a well-ventilated area.
- Fuel Handling: Mix and store fuel in approved containers. Do not refuel while the engine is running or hot. Avoid spilling fuel.
- Starting the Chainsaw: Ensure the chain brake is engaged before starting. Start the chainsaw on a firm, flat surface.
- Operation: Maintain a firm grip with both hands. Be aware of kickback. Do not overreach. Cut only wood.
- Maintenance: Regularly inspect the chainsaw for damage, loose parts, and proper chain tension.
- Storage: Store the chainsaw in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children.

3. Setup and Assembly
Before first use, ensure all components are correctly assembled and the correct fuel mixture is prepared.
Fuel and Oil Mixture
The chainsaw requires a specific fuel-to-oil mixture for its 2-cycle engine. Use high-quality 2-stroke engine oil.

Figure 3.1: Recommended fuel and oil mixing ratios.
- For the first 10 hours of operation (break-in period), use a 30:1 to 35:1 fuel-to-oil ratio (e.g., 30 parts gasoline to 1 part 2-stroke oil).
- After the break-in period, use a 45:1 to 50:1 fuel-to-oil ratio.
- Always use fresh, high-octane gasoline (recommended 91 octane or higher).
- Important: Bar and chain oil is for lubrication of the bar and chain only, not for the engine.
Bar and Chain Installation
Refer to the detailed instructions in your chainsaw's physical manual for specific steps on installing the guide bar and saw chain. Ensure the chain is correctly oriented and tensioned according to the manufacturer's guidelines.

4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps to safely start and operate your NEO-TEC NS892V1 chainsaw.
Starting Procedure (Cold Engine)
For a cold engine start, follow these steps:
Video 4.1: Detailed startup procedure for the NEO-TEC NS892V1 Chainsaw.
- Engage Hand Brake: Always engage the hand brake before starting the chainsaw.
- Locate Instructions: Refer to the starting instructions located on the left side of the machine.
- Choke Position: Push the lever DOWN to the bottom position (choke).
- Depress Decompression Valve: Depress the decompression valve for an easier start.
- Pull Starter Rope (Pop): Pull the starter rope until you hear a "pop" (combustion noise). This indicates the engine has briefly fired.
- Midway Position: Click the lever up ONE notch to the midway position (start).
- Pull Starter Rope (Run): Pull the starter rope until the machine starts to run.
- Warm-up: Allow the machine to warm up without revving the engine.
- Disengage Hand Brake: Disengage the hand brake before revving the motor.

Figure 4.1: Visual guide for the engine starting procedure.
Starting Procedure (Warm Engine)
If the chainsaw is off (up position) and the engine is warm, place the lever back to the middle position to start again. No need to use the full choke position.
General Operation Tips
- Maintain a stable stance and firm grip.
- Always be aware of your surroundings and potential hazards.
- Do not operate the chainsaw with one hand.
- Avoid cutting near power lines or other obstructions.
- When placing the saw on the ground, always engage the chain brake.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your chainsaw.
Routine Checks:
- Chain Tension: Check chain tension before each use. Adjust as necessary to ensure it is snug but can still be pulled freely around the guide bar.
- Chain Sharpening: Keep the saw chain sharp. A dull chain increases effort and risk of kickback.
- Bar Lubrication: Ensure the bar oil reservoir is filled with appropriate bar and chain oil.
- Air Filter: Clean the air filter regularly, especially in dusty conditions. Replace if damaged.
- Spark Plug: Inspect and clean the spark plug periodically. Replace if worn or fouled.
- Fuel Filter: Check and clean or replace the fuel filter as needed.
Storage:
- Before long-term storage, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor.
- Clean the chainsaw thoroughly.
- Remove the guide bar and chain, clean them, and apply a protective oil.
- Store the chainsaw in a dry, secure place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
