2. Safety Information
Observe the following safety precautions to prevent personal injury or damage to the battery and connected equipment:
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection and gloves, when handling batteries.
- Do not short-circuit the battery terminals. This can cause severe damage to the battery and pose a fire hazard.
- Ensure proper ventilation around the battery during operation and charging to prevent heat buildup.
- Do not disassemble, puncture, or modify the battery. Internal components are not user-serviceable.
- Keep the battery away from open flames, heat sources, and flammable materials.
- Use only compatible chargers and charge controllers designed for LiFePO4 batteries.
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the battery to severe impacts.
- In case of fire, use a Class D fire extinguisher or a large amount of water. Do not use CO2 or foam extinguishers.
3. Product Features
The Renogy 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 Lithium Battery Mini Size offers several advanced features:
- Mini-sized Design: Approximately 1/3 smaller than a standard 12V 200Ah lead-acid battery, facilitating installation in confined spaces.
- 200A Battery Management System (BMS): Provides protection against overcharge, over-discharge, over-current, and short circuits.
- Low-Temperature Cut-Off: Prevents charging below 32°F (0°C) and discharging below -4°F (-20°C) to protect the battery in cold conditions.
- IP65 Waterproof Rating: Designed for reliable performance in various outdoor environments, including marine and RV applications.
- Enhanced Vibration Resistance: Ensures durability in mobile and off-grid systems.
- Remote Monitoring Compatible: Can be monitored in real-time via the Renogy App or Renogy One Core Monitor when paired with a Renogy 300A Battery Shunt (sold separately).

4. Setup and Installation
4.1 Unpacking and Inspection
Upon receiving the battery, inspect it for any visible damage. Verify that all included components are present: 2 long terminal bolts, 2 standard terminal bolts, and 1 user manual.
4.2 Mounting
Mount the battery in a clean, cool, and dry location. Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid direct sunlight or heat sources. The battery can be installed in any orientation (upright, on its side, or inverted) due to its sealed design, but upright is generally recommended for optimal thermal management.

4.3 Terminal Connections
Connect the battery terminals using appropriate cables and connectors. Ensure all connections are tight and secure to prevent voltage drops and overheating. Connect the positive (+) terminal to the positive terminal of your system and the negative (-) terminal to the negative terminal of your system. Incorrect polarity can cause severe damage.
- Use the provided M8 terminal bolts for secure connections.
- It is recommended to use a torque wrench to tighten the terminal bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
4.4 System Integration
Ensure that your charging system (solar charge controller, DC-DC charger, inverter/charger) is compatible with LiFePO4 batteries and configured for the correct charging voltage and current. Refer to the specifications section for recommended charging parameters.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Charging
Charge the battery using a LiFePO4 compatible charger. The integrated BMS will protect the battery from overcharging. The low-temperature cut-off feature will prevent charging if the battery temperature is below 32°F (0°C).
5.2 Discharging
The battery can be discharged up to 100% Depth of Discharge (DOD). The BMS will disconnect the battery if the voltage drops below the safe discharge limit or if the current exceeds the maximum discharge current. The low-temperature cut-off feature will prevent discharging if the battery temperature is below -4°F (-20°C).

5.3 Remote Monitoring (Optional)
To monitor battery status, voltage, and current in real-time, connect a Renogy 300A Battery Shunt (sold separately) to your system. The shunt communicates with the Renogy App or Renogy One Core Monitor.

6. Maintenance
The Renogy LiFePO4 battery requires minimal maintenance:
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check the battery and connections for any signs of damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
- Cleaning: Keep the battery terminals clean and free of dirt or debris. Use a dry cloth to wipe the battery casing. Do not use solvents or harsh chemicals.
- Storage: If storing the battery for an extended period, ensure it is charged to approximately 50% State of Charge (SOC) and stored in a cool, dry place. Disconnect it from all loads and chargers.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your battery, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Battery Not Charging: Verify that the charger is connected correctly and is compatible with LiFePO4 batteries. Check for low-temperature cut-off activation (if ambient temperature is below 0°C/32°F).
- Battery Not Discharging: Check for over-discharge protection activation (if battery voltage is too low) or low-temperature cut-off activation (if ambient temperature is below -20°C/-4°F). Ensure all connections are secure.
- Low Voltage Output: This may indicate a low state of charge. Recharge the battery. If the issue persists, check for excessive load or internal battery issues.
- BMS Activation: If the BMS has activated (e.g., due to over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, or temperature extremes), disconnect the load/charger and allow the battery to reset. The BMS will typically auto-recover once conditions return to normal.
For persistent issues, refer to the Renogy website or contact customer support.
