The Tapo DL100 is designed for straightforward installation on standard doors, typically within 15 minutes. No additional drilling is required for standard setups.

3.1 Door Compatibility

Ensure your door meets the following specifications:

The lock is compatible with both right-handed and left-handed doors. It is designed for single cylinder deadbolt configurations and is not compatible with integrated or mortise lock types.

3.2 Installation Steps

Refer to the included Quick Start Guide for detailed, step-by-step installation instructions. The process generally involves:

  1. Prepare the door and frame, ensuring existing hardware is removed.
  2. Install the bolt into the door edge.
  3. Attach the exterior assembly (keypad) to the door.
  4. Install the mounting plate on the interior side of the door.
  5. Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly.
  6. Secure the interior assembly to the mounting plate.
  7. Insert the AA batteries into the interior assembly.
  8. Perform the door handing identification process as instructed in the Quick Start Guide.

4. Initial Setup and App Configuration

4.1 Downloading the Tapo App

5. Operating the Lock

5.1 Keypad Entry

Enter your assigned passcode on the tactile keypad to unlock the door. The keypad is backlit for nighttime use. For enhanced security, you can enter your passcode amidst random digits (PIN Scrambling) to prevent code detection by onlookers.

5.2 Remote Access via Tapo App

5.5 Physical Keys
